Maryland Association of Student Councils (MASC)
MASC Appointed Staff Positions. MASC is accepting applications for appointed staff positions for the 2025-2026 school year. The application deadline is set for Friday, April 4, 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with students from across the state and make a positive impact on their lives.
In order to apply for these highly competitive appointed positions, you have must
- Be able to fulfill the time commitment, which may include both in-person/virtual events/conferences and other assigned duties.
- Have attended at least one MASC event or conference such as the Fall Leadership Conference, Winter Conference, Convention, or an Executive Board meeting.
- Be from a member school of MASC during the 2025-2026 school year. Membership for 2025-2026 will open on August 1st. Appointed staff members need to work with their school advisor to join MASC for 2025-2026 before November 15, 2025.

Action In Middle School (AIMS). AIMS is a program that provides a platform for middle school student leaders to discuss issues, learn about MASC, and enhance their leadership skills

Student Opportunities
MD Civil Education Coalition - Youth Advisory Council. The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) serves as a platform for students from across Maryland to participate in service and leadership activities.
Together, they advocate for increased civic education and engagement opportunities through events like the Maryland Civic Education & Engagement Leadership Summit, Constitution Day events, and meetings with policy-makers. The members of YAC serve as advisors to the Coalition working groups, providing insight to support their mission to ensure that all Maryland students have access to meaningful, hands-on, comprehensive civic education and service-learning opportunities. Maryland Leadership Workshop (MLW). The MLW programs are excellent for students looking to build their leadership skills, make long-lasting friendships, increase their impact in their school and community, and have a lot of fun along the way.
- The Middle School Experience in Leadership (MSEL) Program will be held July 13-18, 2025. It s for students entering grades 6-8,
- The Senior High Workshops (SHW) Program will be held July 20-25, 2025. It is for students entering grades 9-12.
- The Advanced Leadership Seminar (ALS) will be held July 13-19, 2025. This program is for experienced student leaders entering grades 10-12.
