Thunder Post
November 8, 2024
Greetings from the Principal's office!
We have a remarkable team of middle school teachers who make a difference in our students' lives each day!! Mrs. Jamie Nicholson is one of our middle school dedicated and hard-working teachers who loves Jesus.
Mrs. Nicholson became a teacher because she enjoyed the experiences of helping others learn. She continues to teach for the same reason. She currently teaches 8th grade ELA, American History, and Earth Science. She views her teaching as a calling from the Lord. Mrs. Nicholson is deeply rooted in God’s word and truths. She is a mighty, prayerful person and is passionate about reflecting God’s love and care to others, which is evident by the way she lives her life by honoring God.
Outside of school Mrs. Nicholson and her husband enjoy competing in adventure races and triathlons together. Their activities are a part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and embracing God’s beauty all around them.
Thank you, Mrs. Nicholson, for your dedication to CCS!
There is so much happening in and around CCS! Please read on for more information ...
Blessings,
Mrs. Annas

The photographer will be here and ready to go from 9:00 - 10:00a. Students can wear dressy clothes if they would like. Extra order forms can be picked up from the office or you can go online to place your order.

Don't forget ... if your student is getting retakes, the original packet must be returned on Monday.
LITTLE THUNDER GRATEFUL GATHERING
Coming up this week!!
This is our second year hosting a Little Thunder Grateful Gathering, and we're looking forward to having preschool parents join us once again! Please plan on dropping your student off as usual, then sign in at the office.

#1 OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Shoeboxes went home earlier this week! All filled shoeboxes are due next Friday, November 15th. At some point during the day, students will gather around the boxes and we will pray over them before we deliver them to the church.
#2 THANKSGIVING TO GO
The sign-up link is now available!
Cornerstone Church will be hosting their annual Thanksgiving To Go meals again this year. Meals will be handed out on Wednesday, November 27th from 9a – 8p. They are planning on handing out over 1300 meals to the underserved in our community. For the first time, CCS will be partnering with the church on this service opportunity.
If you are able and interested to help in some way, please check out the sign-up here. As the event draws closer there may be additional opportunities to sign up for. Our students will be taking part by drawing cards and writing notes of encouragement for the families who will be receiving the meals.
Please prayerfully consider how God might be leading you to help.
K-1-2 Club
Our K-1-2 Club did a little crafting this week ... they used the image of their hands to make a turkey, dog, giraffe, and a bunch of carrots!
We will meet one more time on Monday, November 18th from 3:45-4:30p. If your Kindergartener, 1st or 2nd grade student would like to come, we'd love to have them! We're hoping for some nice weather to do a little hiking!
If your student will be joining us for the first time, please be sure to register here.
MOD PIZZA FUNDRAISER
On Thursday, November 21st CCS will be holding a fundraiser at MOD Pizza. All you have to do is mention the name Cornerstone Christian School at checkout and MOD will donate 25% of your order back to CCS. If ordering online, use the code MODGIVES25 for CCS to receive the donation.
Tell your family, friends, and neighbors to head on over to MOD Pizza in Brighton (across from Meijer) on Thursday, November 21st ... any time that day! Just don't forget to mention the name Cornerstone! 🥰
BRIGHTON HOLIDAY GLOW & CHRISTMAS MARKET
GET YOUR GLOW ON!
Cornerstone Christian School will have a booth at the Holiday Glow and Christmas Market on Saturday, November 23rd from 1:00 to 7:00p. This is a wonderful opportunity for the CCS community to help promote our school, and we need your help at the booth. To help, click here to volunteer for one (or two 🙂) hours.
This will be a fun time to connect with local families, artisans, and businesses and spread the word about CCS. For questions, please contact lwood@ccsbrighton.org.
We invite all families to join us at the booth to spread the joy of season as school community.
NATIONAL DAY OF GIVING
This year, CCS will be raising funds during the National Day of Giving on December 3rd, also known as Giving Tuesday. This globally recognized movement occurs annually on the first Tuesday following Thanksgiving and serves as a reminder to give-back through acts of kindness and charitable giving amongst the busyness of holiday shopping days like Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday.
Our fundraising event will be held online and will run from Friday, November 22nd through December 4th, overlapping with the National Day of Giving. We are hoping to raise over $45,000 to put toward fulfilling teachers’ wish lists for their classrooms, enhancing curriculum, and increasing enrichment opportunities for the students.
Mark your calendars and get ready to give! Together, we can reach new heights for our students and school! Instructions on how to set up each student's team will go home with your child next Friday, November 15th so be on the lookout!"
CCS CHRISTMAS STORE
The annual CCS Christmas Store is coming the first week of December!
On either December 3rd or 4th all students will have time to shop with a personal shopper (CCS parent volunteer) at our Christmas Store.
Details on how the Christmas Store works will come home soon.
