Fall Festival - Thank you for attending!
It was great to see so many families join our PTA sponsored Fall Festival today. A huge SHOUT OUT to the many parent volunteers and organizations that made this event possible. Your generosity made it possible for our students to have a great time!
See the post below for details on our Halloween celebration on Monday and remember that there is no school on Tuesday, November 1.
Have a restful weekend,
Ms. Tapia
Halloween - Wear your costume to school!
This year we will be celebrating Halloween by allowing students to dress up for the holiday on Monday, October 31. We still need to find that important balance between having fun and maintaining a focus on learning for the day. We are excited to celebrate in this way and appreciate your partnership in making it a positive experience for all. Below are our guidelines to support you and your family in making costume choices with your child for the school day.
- Please leave costume accessories at home. These include swords, wands, light sabers, and any item that can be hand held (We don't want these to get lost or used in ways that are not appropriate for school).
- Costumes should not demean or make fun of any individual, group, or culture.
- Please no inflatable costumes or costumes that would not allow your child to sit comfortably at their desk and participate in learning activities.
- For their safety, students may not wear a mask that covers their face in its entirety.
- Please be mindful of costumes that may frighten our younger students. We want this to be a positive experience for all students. This includes costumes that promote violence and excessive blood and gore.
- Halloween shirts, necklaces, and headbands are great alternatives if you and your child would like to save their costume and keep it special for evening trick or treating.
- Character costumes should be G rated.
- School administration will make final determinations on the appropriateness of costumes as needed.
If you are in doubt, please be sure to consult with your child's teacher.
