6B Decades Day

6B STEAM ACTIVITY

Students on the 6B team worked on a STEAM activity where they created a nest to see how many eggs the nest could hold.

7A INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

Students on 7A learned about how far women have come in our country since 1789. (did you know that women could not get a credit card without a male's permission until 1971 and we could not enroll in Harvard until 1977?) Students shared out important female figures in their lives and also talked about what they read in English (I am Malala and Amanda Gorman's Inauguration speech).

7B HOW MANY PACKS OF RAMEN NOODLES COULD YOU EAT IN A MINUTE?

Students in Ms. Kalb's 7th grade math classes did some math involving world record-eater Matt Stonie's food competitions! Students watched his video, looked at data, and estimated that Matt Stonie ate around 1.2 packs per minute. Then, the students created an equation, graphed it on DESMOS, and came up with different solutions. Students worked collaboratively on a google slide and wrote these different amounts of minutes & packs as ordered pairs. Check out what these awesome 7C students came up with!
