- March 13th was the end of the 9 weeks.

Reminders/Updates
- Check Schoology Regularly to check for missing assignments and communication with teachers
- As the weather begins to warm up, please be mindful of student dress code.
- During the school day, student phones are to be turned off and in their locker. Please remind students of this expectation
- Please remind students to charge their iPads daily
8th Grade Trip
We are excited to take our 8th graders to Hershey Park on May 28th! Students received permission slips on Tuesday. Please return the slip and money to school to reserve your spot. We are only taking the first 100 8th grade students. If you have questions, please feel free to reach out!
Student Accomplishments
Natalie Albright winning the DAR essay contest!
Brayden Wire taking first place for 6th grade at Regional Math Field Day
This week was a great week for some of our MRMS students!
- On Monday, the Regional Math Field Day event was held. Brayden Wire took the top Regional spot for 6th Grade!! He will now move on to compete at the State Math Field Day event on April 12th
- Natalie Albright won the Daughters of the American Revolution historical essay contest!! She will now represent WV in the East Central Division!
- Cohen McLaughlin and Adrian Jimenez competed in the WV State Science Fair and took home 2nd place! Great Job!
- This week we also had 2 students travel to Charleston to learn more about the Government and its workings. During their time there, they met with the governor, state legislatures and more!
- On Wednesday, we took some of our 8th grade students to MRI to read to their students! Thank you Ms. Morgan for organizing this and helping our students contribute to our community!
Other Recent Student News:
- On Thursday and Friday of last week, multiple students had the opportunity to participate in the WV All State Middle School Band. MRMS had a strong representation with 8 students in the 100 piece band!
- In other band news, our MRMS Jazz band competed in the Regional Jazz Festival and received scores of SUPERIOR! Congratulations to all students and Mr. Albright!
- Our 7th Grade Robotics team will be participating in the VEX Robotics competition after the efforts recently! Great job, especially for the first year competing!
- Congratulations to Brock Corbin and Cam Caton on placing 35th out of 100 in the WV Bridge Build and Design Contest. Brock and Cam have been invited to the state competition on March 29th in Beckley.

Volunteers/Chaperones
There has been an update to this process.
To comply with Meghan's Law, there are some changes to the volunteer interest process. Those wanting to become a volunteer will need to complete the following steps. The BCS website has been updated with this information after the first of the year.

After completion, those requesting to be a level1/ unsupervised volunteers will receive a customized message with the background check link.
A follow-up email be sent by the school board office to provide the background check link and remind respondents to complete.

Math:

- Tuesdays 6:55-7:25am (Mr. Oliver)
- Tuesdays 2:35-305pm (Ms. O'Neil)
- Wednesdays 3-4pm (Ms. Bageant)
English:
- Tuesdays 3-4pm (Ms. Benckert)
We are limiting the number of students per session to 12 so that students can get the help they need. Students should come to the session(s) with work and questions. Teachers will not be providing lessons but are there to offer help and assistance.
We will send out a separate email with the link each week to sign up.
