CANTON CITY SCHOOLS eNEWS
A message from Superintendent Talbert
Hello Bulldog Family and Friends,
Thank you for another great week in the CCSD!
I want to thank everyone who partnered with us to host several successful events. The Stark County Fatherhood Coalition sponsored the annual Fathers Walk to School on Thursday. We had a strong showing of dads, moms, and role models come out to walk their student to the door. We appreciated everyone who joined us.
Today, many of our students participated in the International Day of Peace at Centennial Plaza. This was a multi-district event sponsored by several organizations. We believe that our student leaders can be the generation that achieves world peace. They make us proud.
This weekend is Homecoming Weekend for our high school students. I wish them a safe and enjoyable evening at tonight's game vs. Perry, and at their dance tomorrow. Watch our Facebook page for photos.
Everyone, have a great weekend and ...

VOLUNTEERS OF THE YEAR!
the McKinley High School CTE Job Training Program received the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank's 2023 Organization Volunteer Group of the Year!
Senior-level students, their teacher Mrs. Erin Oliver, and CCS staff members Kristin Culp, Rachael Knisely, Theresa Nichols, and Dan Farley, were presented with the official plaque.
McKinley Job Training is a two-year Career Technical program that begins in the junior year of high school. Through this program, students gain the unique opportunity to volunteer and work within the community. Over the past three years, Job Training has partnered weekly with the Akron Canton Regional Foodbank. This collaboration offers students valuable work experience and important life skills.
In 2023, the team accounted for 309 volunteer service hours with 191 visits at the volunteer center and pantry.
