Farnham's Bike Rodeo Friday, Oct . 18th
October 18th after school is the SJDoT’s Bike Rodeo program. This is optional and requires parental/guardian presence/supervision. This event will take place from 2:50-4:20 pm.
A bike rodeo is a bicycle skills event which provides an opportunity for bicyclists to practice and develop skills that will help them to become better bicyclists and avoid typical crashes.
No permission slip is needed, but we do require that a parent or guardian be present during the time that their child(ren) are participating. Students need to bring their own bike and helmet. If they do not have a helmet, we will have a limited supply on hand to provide for these students.
Please RSVP through this link: https://forms.gle/Mn2unKHhT2aMKQyv8. You can also sign up your student on arrival at the bike rodeo. However, the RSVP list gives the program leads an idea of how many students will be participating.

Everything You Need to Know about Measure BB
Look for Measure BB on your ballot on election day. What is Measure BB?
Measure BB is the continuation (with no changes) of Measure H, a parcel tax of $94.24 per-parcel/year approved by Cambrian School District voters in June 2018, which supports Transitional Kindergarten through eighth grade students by attracting and retaining quality teachers, continuing core programs in math, science, engineering, technology, reading, music and the arts. Maintaining class sizes and providing physical education programs that promote student health and fitness.
Proceeds from Measure BB may be used to:
Attract and retain highly qualified teachers and support staff who specialize in technology
Continue funding for advanced and core programs in math, science, engineering and technology
Support funding for advanced and core programs in reading, music and the arts
Maintain manageable class sizes
Provide ongoing training and skills development for teachers and staff
Continue funding for physical education programs that promote student health and fitness
Taxpayer Protections:
All Measure BB funds stay local to support CSD instructional programs
The State cannot take Measure BB funding away.
No funds are allowed for administrators' salaries or pensions.
Mandatory annual audits ensure the funds are used as promised.
An exemption from the tax is available for senior property owners 65 years and older.
Why has the Cambrian School District (CSD) placed Measure BB on the ballot?
Our goal is to continue that proud tradition with the continuation of our local parcel tax funding – Measure BB. The level of school funding provided by the state of California is one of the lowest in the nation. We rely on local funding to fill in the gap and to ensure we maintain our excellent school programs.
What is the actual question that voters will be asked to decide in November?
“Advisory Vote Only. To continue to provide Cambrian neighborhood elementary and middle school students with stable funding for instruction in math, science, reading, engineering, technology, and arts, retaining highly qualified teachers, and maintaining manageable class sizes, should Cambrian School District continue the annual parcel tax that was approved by 67 percent of voters in 2018 (with no changes), with exemptions for seniors, no funds for administrators’ salaries, and every dollar benefitting Cambrian children?”
How much does Measure BB cost?
Measure BB will not change your tax rate. Measure BB is the continuation (with no changes) of Measure H, a parcel tax of $94.24 per-parcel/year approved by Cambrian School District voters in June 2018. Senior citizen homeowners 65 years or older will continue to be eligible for an exemption through a simple application process. We do not want this measure to become a burden to those living on a fixed income. To find out more about how to apply, please contact Beverly Merrel, by phone (408) 377-2103 x0 or email merrelb@cambriansd.com.
What happens if Measure BB is not continued?
Without Measure BB funding, the Cambrian School District budget would need to be cut by nearly a million dollars, impacting academic programs, increasing class sizes, and only allowing for maintaining the basics. CSD depends on local revenue to supplement limited State funding. Continuing Measure H won’t address all funding needs, but it will help retain exceptional teachers and protect core programs.
For more information, visit our website at: www.cambriansd.org OR email us at: MeasureHinfo@cambriansd.com OR contact Dr. John Pappalardo, Chief Financial Officer via phone: (408) 377-2103, OR by email: pappalardoj@cambriansd.com.
Cambrian School District is pleased to offer all students complimentary snack at morning recess and lunch meals at lunch recess. Meals will be available for pickup in the cafeteria during scheduled meal periods. Please consider taking advantage of our FREE school meals by clicking here and signing up. It extends your grocery budget, saves time planning and preparing meals, and is comforting and familiar for kids to have school meals. In addition, every meal served is reimbursed by the USDA and funds go toward Child Nutrition staff wages. Please note that you are not taking food away from someone who needs it more – we have plenty to go around!
