YEAR TWO!
We are officially into our second year as a City of Vancouver Neighborhood Association. We've done a lot in one year and hope to do even more this upcoming year. We held elections at our last general membership meeting and thankfully, Velda and Destiny were reelected as Treasurer and Co-Chair. Our goal this year is to get more involvement from our neighbors. We are hoping that more of you will attend a Meet and Greet, a General Membership Meeting or one of our events. We are a board of four and would really appreciate some more input from our neighbors to help keep ideas fresh and new.
Please consider coming to our next Meet and Greet which will be held at Buenos Dias Restaurant on Saturday, March 22 from 2-3pm..
CHIPOTLE FUNDRAISER
We will receive 25% (that's 25%!) of sales from Chipotle on Sunday, April 27 between the hours of 4:00pm-8:00pm at the NE Fourth Plain Blvd location (14321 NE Fourth Plain Blvd, Vancouver). We hope that many of our neighbors will decide to go in-restaurant or order on their app their Sunday meal and help us earn some money for our Association. It's a super easy fundraiser as we will provide you the code to use when ordering and BAM! We just earned 25% of your order. We would like to use these funds toward a movie in the park night (or two). Please watch for more info on this in the near future.
FREE TREES IN THE PARK
As you are most likely aware, we lost another tree and part of one in our park. This park is NOT a city owned park and is actually owned by the residents of 5th Plain Creek Station's HOA. Since it's not a city park, we didn't think we'd be able to tap into some of the City's resources, but when the Mayor of Vancouver was visiting us at our picnic she suggested who to reach out to at the city to receive some free trees. So we did! The forester from the City came and walked the park with our chair, Carrie, and he recommended where the trees should go to promote more of a canopy in the park. We got the okay from the HOA to go ahead with this plan and we are looking at a Fall 2025 plant. The very cool part is that the city will maintain these trees for the first year. We are fortunate to access these free trees and the city's services for our little park. When the planting does take place, we could use a few volunteers to help. We'll send a call out when it gets closer and hope some of you will help.
MEET OUR NEW NEIGHBORHOOD POLICE OFFICER
NEIGHBORHOOD GARAGE SALE
it's time to start thinking of our Association's sponsored Second Annual Neighborhood Garage Sale. We will hold the sale as we did last year, the first weekend in June. It will be open Thursday June 5-Sunday June 8. We heard from some that they were unable to participate due to their work schedule, and additionally, through our research we know that Thursday is a popular day for garage salers. You do not have to participate all those days, just the days you can and want to join. There will be an application for you to complete if you'd like to participate. Our HOA rules do not allow for Garage Sales in the neighborhood, but in working with them, we have received permission to do this annual neighborhood event. There will be a $5.00 application donation/fee. This will help us cover the cost of signs which we will post up in the area. We will advertise on social media, too, and each house will receive a balloon to put in front of their house to let people know where the sales are and we will include your address on our map. We may have some spots available in the park so that apartment residents can participate, too. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact us.

NEIGHBORLY POINTS OF PRIDE
This is Jason. He was seen out and about in December picking up trash and not even on his own street! THANK YOU Jason for being a caring neighbor.
If you'd like to help out in our neighborhood, we are having a Clean Up the Park/Neighborhood on Saturday, April 26 at 10:00am. We have all the supplies you need! Mark you calendars and bring the family. The more helpers we get, the faster it goes. You'd be amazed how much trash we pick up off the streets in our neighborhood. Help us take pride in where we live.
SAVE THE DATE! JUNE14-
Our Big Clean Up Event is scheduled the weekend after our Neighborhood Garage Sale, which we think is great planning! The City of Vancouver, Washington hosts neighborhood cleanups on Saturdays to help residents dispose of bulky items, yard debris, and scrap metal. Neighborhood associations organize these events and publicize them to their residents.
