Principal's Comment

Kia ora families

Exciting news!!!! The Playscape is now complete!!!!

You are all welcome to attend the opening on Monday at 9:10am. We will start with Karakia, followed by a brief address by Anna Waimara (BoT) and myself. We will close the ceremony with the cutting of the ribbon.

The children are SUPER excited to use the Playscape; I will take lots of photos and share them on Facebook on Monday afternoon.

Our caretaker of sixteen years, Mr Gary Heal, has resigned his position at Onekawa School. I wish to thank Gary for his service to our children, staff and community over these years. The staff have appreciated all his help and handyman skills from fixing small issues right up to larger tasks like maintaining the buildings to high standard. Gary has had a wonderful rapport with the children and they too will miss him. Thanks Gary, best wishes for the future.

Our Assembly Hosts for Week 5

Paeshince and Havana were our hosts for assembly this week. They did a fantastic job of running the assembly and reading their 'all about me' speeches. Tumeke children!

Physical Activity Leaders (PALs)

Our school leaders attended PALs training last week.

PALs is aimed at empowering and supporting students with the development of their leadership skills.

The programme consists of a one day workshop, with other schools, where they interact with and participate in leadership development activities. Our school leaders will now lead physical activity sessions during lunchtime.

Whetu Iti - T Ball Skills

Each Wednesday after school this term, children in Year 1 and 2 are taking part in a T Ball skills session. Below are some action shots of the first session!

Free Frozen Meals

We have free frozen meals in our freezer waiting to fill some bellies! If you would like one please call the office on 06 843 8297 prior to 2.30pm each day.
