UDHS Community Update
June 6, 2024
Cardinal Pride
Good afternoon, UDHS Family,
Upper Dublin High School welcomed our rising freshmen on Monday in a transition program which helps students begin their orientation. The Class of 2028 received a tour of the building and participated in a panel discussion with current students Kobe Bazemore, Noah Cohen, Casey Nadell, Megan Ngo, Lucas Platt, and Brooke Rovner. We will see you all in September.
Congratulations to Dakota Mass for earning a perfect score on her ACT. Only one quarter of one percent of all test takers achieve this distinction. Of the more than one million students who tested in the United States in 2023, just over 2,500 reach this level. We are proud of her and wish her all the best.
Zachary Hunter applied for the Samuel A. Green Scholarship through Firstrust Bank. We just learned that Zachary was one of 18 recipients out of 440 applicants who won a $20,000 scholarship for leadership and commitment to improving the community. The award ceremony was held at the Firstrust clubhouse at the Linc, where he and his family were given a tour and saw the Super Bowl trophy.
Mrs. Leary's students celebrated her career this week in impressive fashion. Their creativity and support of their teacher were wonderful and provided a delicious end of year class. Tres bien a tout le monde.
Seniors enrolled in the Art of the Story Honors course received a heartwarming write-up in the ACTS Community Spring/Summer 2024 newsletter for their work in the fall with the Fort Washington Estates residents. The Senior to Senior project allowed UDHS seniors the opportunity to interview the senior citizens of FWE about stories of their resilience. After the interviews concluded, students were asked to write a memoir for their senior to highlight the four pillars of resilience – passion, perseverance, other-centeredness, and hope – in their senior resident’s life. A link to the article can be found here.
Activities
Graduation takes place promptly at 6:00 on Tuesday, June 11. Family members with tickets will enter on both the home and visitor sides. Seniors and senior families, please click here for an important letter regarding the dress code for commencement and practice date and time. For parking instructions click here. Seating will be available on both the home and visitor sides of the stadium. Students with last names A - N will enter and sit along the home side, while those with last names O - Z will enter and sit along the visitor side. Families can sit in those bleachers for the ceremony to give the closest proximity to their students.
The PBIS Core Team sponsored a silent auction in the library during Office Hours on Friday. This was the final opportunity of the year for students and staff to use their Card Cash. Congratulations to all the winners, including Lucas Gray who provided Mr. Breish a new haircult. Thanks to all involved for a wonderful and fun activity.
Athletics
Mr. Heiland's weekly update on UDHS athletics follows.
We had 3 spring sports teams qualify for the PIAA state playoffs this past week. All three teams, unfortunately, lost in their first-round game, but it was still a tremendous season for our baseball, boys lacrosse, and girls lacrosse teams.
Congrats to Paige Dinkel, who during the first-round state game scored her 200th career goal.

FamilyID Registration - NOW OPEN
Please see the information below about registering for fall sports at Upper Dublin High School. If your child is interested in playing sports at the high school next fall, please pay attention to the following information.
At Upper Dublin High School, we have transitioned to an online sports registration platform for Upper Dublin Athletics. This transition may be new to you if this is your first child playing sports at UDHS. Once you register your student-athlete, that profile will exist until their high school playing career is over. If you have multiple student-athletes in high school, you will need to create a different profile for each athlete.
It will stay open through the summer and fall season.
PER THE PIAA BYLAWS, WE CAN NOT APPROVE ANY PHYSICALS FOR THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR UNLESS THEY ARE DATED AFTER 5/1/2024.
On June 1st, only fall registration is opening. Winter and spring registrations will open once the new school year begins.
To register, please click here and follow the directions.
