St. John Eagle Edition
November 11, 2024
A note from Mrs. Goetsch...
It is hard to believe the first quarter of the school year is already in our "rear view mirror" There have been so many great learning opportunities and events happening during the month of October and early November. What a blessing it is to provide ways to help our students learn with books, stories, songs, and life experiences!!!
Please take a few moments to look at the slide show below which Celebrates our First Quarter of Learning here at St. John School.
Another busy month ahead for our students and staff. Please make sure you take time to read about the upcoming events. This will help our families plan for and participate in another set of amazing opportunities God has provided us to help our students grow as they travel on their 2nd quarter learning journey. There continues to be so many reasons to be Thankful for all God has given us here at St. John Church and School.
Reflecting on our 50 Days of Learning at St. John
Learning Journey: Seasons for a Reason
St. John PK3-8th grade students will begin a year-long "learning journey" focusing on God's creation of the four seasons and how each season is related to the life of Christ.
What is a learning journey? It is project-based learning which provides students hands-on and real-life experiences to connect their classroom learning and their faith.
Connection to Learning: We recently took students to the Wausau West Planetarium and brought a portable "Star Lab" to school to help them make a connection between God's creation of the stars and how the stars provided a guide for people to know when to plant and harvest their crops and how to navigate the land. Students will be asked to complete a project showing their understanding of God's purpose for the creation of the Sun, Moon, and Stars. These projects will be shared at our Celebration of Learning in May.
This year, we will be having three one-week learning journeys focused on the four seasons.
October - Summer and Fall combined
January - Winter
April - Spring

ENDURE
Hebrews 12:1-3
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
Consider Him who endured from sinners such hostility against Himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted
Chapel Offering is taken each week

December 11
8:30 -10:45 am

You can help by:
- Donating items for students to purchase
- Volunteering to help students fill their shopping list while at the Shopping Mall.
- Volunteer to help wrap and label gifts
- Volunteer to help with set-up and take down of the shopping mall set up in the Church Multi-Purpose Center.
