PRINCIPAL'S WEEKLY MESSAGE
Happy Friday Ridgeview Families!
HERE ARE YOUR UPDATES FOR THE NEXT WEEK
On May 14th and 15th, we are going to have a PBIS event, staff vs. student dodgeball match. It will be done by grade level, and students who wish to participate will use PBIS points to be entered into a raffle. Mr. Lee will announce to students the winners who’ll play in the round robin of games vs. their teachers. Students will have the opportunity to enter other raffles for prizes to close out this school year. If you have questions about our PBIS program, please contact Mr. Lee.
May 22nd (7th grade ) and May 23rd (8th grade) we will have our end of the year Academic Awards ceremony. Students receiving an award will get a special invite to the ceremony; 8th grade parents / guardians will receive a Talking Points invite. More specific information is below this section of the newsletter. If after reading the info you still have questions, please contact the main office.
Ridgeview was awarded a grant to begin a boys mentoring program called Young Men of Excellence. This program will be run next school year beginning with select 8th grade boys, with the hope we can expand the program to 7th grade boys as well. We’re very excited for the opportunity and grateful to the Pickerington Education Foundation (PEF) for choosing us this year.
Our very own Mr. Lee will be awarded the Ohio School Resource Officers Association (OSROA) Award of Valor for his work and dedication to Ridgeview last school year. We are so proud of Mr. Lee and congratulate him on being the first to receive this award!
Thank you to all the volunteers and those who gave donations to our 8th grade/staff cookout last week. We had an awesome day. Please know how much we appreciate your help, donations, and willingness to keep this one awesome event.
Lastly, as the weather continues to get better and the days get longer, there’s a tendency for behaviors to also increase. We have 2 full weeks left in the school year and we’d love to have everyone here with us until the end on May 29th. However, as much as we love your kiddos, we will have peace during the last 2 full weeks with or without them. Please press upon your student about continuing to adhere to our TIGER expectations every single day or summer break could come early for them. If you ever have any questions about our TIGER expectations and/or the district behavior matrix, please contact an administrator.
We hope everyone enjoys the weekend and a Happy Mother's Day to all our mom's and those who fill the mom role for children. We appreciate you!
Take care and we’ll chat again next week! GO TIGERS!

Dosages cannot exceed the manufacturer’s recommendations for age and weight. HELP Make Our Schools Safer
The Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Public Safety have launched the SaferOH tip line that will accept both calls and texts 24 hours a day.
This tip line allows students and adults to anonymously share information with school officials and law enforcement about threats to student safety—whether that involves a threatened mass incident or harm to a single student.
Every tip can remain anonymous. School safety analysts may ask for additional information, but the caller can remain secret or leave his or her contact information for later follow-up.
Calls or texts to 844-SaferOH (844-723-3764) are answered by analysts in the Ohio Homeland Security’s Threat Assessment and Prevention (TAP) Unit. When action is needed, the TAP Unit immediately forwards information to Pickerington Schools, local law enforcement agencies, and others, if necessary.
