Lamar Library April Edition!
We've been busy!
Skyping with Claire Legrand
Skyping with Claire Legrand was amazing! The 8th grade ELA teachers organized the whole thing. Students wrote questions ahead of time and took turns asking this intriguing author about her writing process. We had so much fun and learned a ton! Check out my creepy video made in iMovie and my fun video made with Magisto below! (We fangirled a bit about librarians and author crushes- but I didn't put that in the video. )

Mrs. Robertson decided to update from notecards to online notes! So I made this present.me to help explain how LEAPsters could use Evernote to organize their research notes for "A World Without Project." I taught students how to use Evernote, organize notebooks and tags, and I stayed around while they began researching and clipping. Love those 6th graders!
My Hero Project
I helped plan the My Hero Project with 7th grade. Mrs. Votrain's students came in the library to research heroes. Student presentations ranged from original songs, art, videos, Smores, and Wix websites.
Come check out the Fish!
Mrs. Lawrence's art class made paper mache fishes. Come check them out.
Horsing around in the library
Sorry to be so punny.
Maker Monday!
Mozilla Popcorn Maker Party
Mozilla Popcorn Maker Party
Students had a blast with Mozilla's #Teachtheweb Popcorn Maker! We ate popcorn and made silly mashups. The kids had so much fun they want to come back next week even without the free popcorn! (Popcorn maker allows you to pull in Youtube videos, songs from Soundcloud, web images, and more to remix the web!)
Makerspace Explained with Wideo
I found this cool tool called a wideo during my Google Certification training. It allows you to create personal animations. I made one to explain Makerspaces, but you could use their template to make anything look professional! Go to wideo.co.
