What an unforgettable Valentine's Day at Rose! ❤️
From start to finish, the day was filled with friendship, kindness, support, and teamwork—a true reflection of our Stingray Strong spirit.
Our amazing parents helped make the day extra special by organizing fun-filled classroom parties, complete with creative activities, delicious treats, and plenty of laughter. A huge thank you to our thoughtful families who sent beautiful flowers and sweet treats to the front office—your kindness and generosity are so appreciated! Throughout the day, the halls were alive with joy, smiles, and a whole lot of love, reminding us all of the incredible community we have at Rose.
The excitement of the day ended with an incredible 5th-grade basketball game, where students and staffed played against each other, all the while cheering each other on, demonstrating sportsmanship and team spirit. It was truly a Valentine’s Day to remember, and we are so grateful to everyone who made it so special. Rose was the place to be! 💕
Warmly,
Dr. Ruesch
Digital Mobile Devices
All personal electronic devices such as cell phones must remain in students’ lockers or can be given to classroom teachers for safe keeping throughout the school day. Smart watches may be worn, but they must be set to Schooltime or disabled for texting and calling during school hours (8:00-2:40).
This minimizes disruptions and distractions to the instructional day and maintains a productive learning environment for all students. We'd like to communicate the district's existing personal electronic devices expectations to minimize distractions and enhance face-to-face classroom connections:
Digital Mobile Devices are not permitted in learning environments. Devices must remain powered down and out of sight during class time.
CogAT testing for 2nd and 5th grade
Between February 24th and March 5th, students in 2nd and 5th grade will take the Cognitive Abilities Test ™ (CogAT ®). This assessment is intended to measure reasoning and problem-solving skills. Information gathered from the CogAT will be used by Barrington 220’s teaching staff as one way to examine students' reasoning skills. Here is the letter from the district regarding the testing.
