CoGAT and IOWA Testing starts this week!
We are excited to announce the upcoming CogAT and Iowa tests, which are vital for our gifted and talented program screenings. The CogAt (Cognitive Abilities Test) assesses reasoning and problem-solving skills, while the Iowa Test of Basic Skills evaluates academic knowledge in reading, math, and language arts. These tests are crucial as they provide insights into your child's cognitive and academic strengths, helping us tailor our educational offerings to their needs. The testing schedule is listed below. Please ensure your child is well-rested and prepared. Support your child by encouraging a positive mindset about the tests, reminding them that this is an opportunity for growth and learning. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. Thank you for your continued support in your child's educational journey!

Class of the Week: Mrs. Camp-Spears' Primary Montessori Class (Sept 30-Oct 4)
During this time of recovery from Hurricane Helene, School District Five has seen an outpouring of support from our community and a desire to assist and give back. As a way to allow people the opportunity to serve each other, the District will host a D5 Snack Pack Drive next week, October 7 - October 11, 2024, at the District Office (1020 Dutch Fork Road, Irmo). Donations can be dropped off between the hours of 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. The District 5 Foundation sponsors the Snack Pack program, which serves students who are experiencing food insecurity throughout the District. The program serves more than 700 students per week.
One Snack Pack costs approximately $10 for one child for one weekend. If you would prefer to make a monetary donation directly to the District 5 Foundation, you may do so by scanning the QR code on this flyer or by visiting https://www.district5foundation.org/.
Thank you for all you do to love and grow our students!
