Highland Park Elementary
Week of February 3
A Message from Interim Superintendent John Thein
Dear Saint Paul Public Schools Community,
As your interim superintendent, I want to thank you for your contributions and dedication to Saint Paul Public Schools. Whether you are a student, family member or member of our staff, you have chosen to be part of the SPPS community. Thank you for being here.
As a member of this community, I want to assure you that SPPS respects, affirms and welcomes ALL students, staff and family members. As a public school district, our policies and practices around racial equity, gender inclusion and non-discrimination exist to ensure that ALL students are supported and have access to a high-quality education regardless of their race, religion, national origin, immigration status, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status or disability. ALL students deserve to learn in respectful and inclusive environments where their identities are valued and contribute to their success in school and in life.
In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: "We must walk on in the days ahead with an audacious faith in the future.” Our students—ALL of our students—are that future.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our Saint Paul Public Schools community.
Parking Changes
The City of St. Paul has launched a parking pilot program that will affect Highland Park Elementary and the surrounding neighborhood beginning Monday, February 2, and ending Saturday, April 12. This adjusted parking protocol will be in effect for the entirety of the pilot programming, regardless of winter weather.
In short, the pilot areas will allow for parking on only one side of streets at any given time. Parking locations will change from odd sides of the street to even sides of the street every-other week.
