EYE OF THE TIGER NEWSLETTER

We want to congratulate the Navy JROTC Marksmanship Team after their competition at the Navy Marksmanship Championship. As a team, they competed against the Top 40 teams in the nation and placed 16th. Haven Burke, Gianna Lam, Marlaiz Perez, Aaron Caudillo, Victoria Martinez, and Samantha Trevino represented our school and RRISD with distinction. They are the 2nd ranked team in the State of Texas. Go Tigers!

Also, Haven Burke advanced to the All Services Championship in March; of the 217 competitors, Haven Burke placed 13th. Haven Burke is the number one ranked Shooter in Texas for the Navy JROTC program and will compete against the top Marine, Army, and Airforce Marksman in the Nation for the National title.

Parents, please do not park on the red fire lane in front of the school. This is reserved for FIRE and RESCUE services. This is also the drop-off and pick-up for BUSES. **If there is no parking available, please park in the faculty parking lot (across the football field) and walk around to the front of the school.

Food deliveries of any kind are NOT permitted. Door Dash, Grub Hub, Uber Eats, etc. will be turned away. We are a closed campus. For the safety of our students, delivery drivers are not permitted contact with them at side doors or portable buildings.

If you or an authorized adult on your student's list wants to bring them food, please make arrangements with your student to meet them in the front office during their scheduled lunchtime or passing period. We will not disrupt instructional time nor can we accept the food. This policy has been in place for years. ** This also applies to student homework, athletic gear, band gear, etc. Thank you for your continued understanding and support!

Starting Monday, Jan. 27, Round Rock ISD emailed a link to the primary parent/guardian on file, students, campus staff, and central service department staff for the 2025 climate survey. The survey is short, mobile-friendly, and takes less than five minutes to complete.

Families with more than one child in Round Rock ISD schools will receive a separate email for each child. Please complete one survey per child. The survey will be open from Monday, Jan. 27, through Sunday, Mar. 2. Students will receive the survey link and QR code from their campus ITS.

Principals are eager to gather your feedback and produce the best possible academic and social experiences for students.

Survey results from previous years have been instrumental in driving lasting changes, including:

• Increased funding to promote student social and emotional learning initiatives
• Developing and designing classes for parents,
• Measuring the effectiveness of specific initiatives and
• Helping schools identify particular areas of need and improvement goals.

Prom is scheduled for Saturday, March 29th at 8 pm. The prom will be held at the Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel & Conference Center in Georgetown. Prom permission forms are in the front office.

Come see your Stony Point Golden Dancers in the Merge Ensemble Showcase, Friday March 7th at 7pm! The show is free, and you'll also get to see and cheer on other Ensemble teams in the district. The show will be held at the Raymond E. Hartfield Performing Arts Center located next to McNeil High School. The Golden Dancers are excited to see you there! $5 donation suggested at the door. Calling all families with 6th-8th grade students! The Stony Point High School Tiger Dancers will be hosting a middle school dance clinic from 5-6:30pm on Thursday, March 6th! We invite your middle school dancer to come learn a fun combo from the Tiger Dancer Line Officers. Registration is $10.

AVID is a dynamic program dedicated to helping students achieve their goal of attending college. For more than 30 years, AVID has been instrumental in preparing students for success in higher education. Students considered for AVID are students who are bright, capable students that with support are challenged to meet the ultimate goal of attending a four-year college or university. The Home Access Center (HAC) is an online information system that allows parents/guardians and secondary students access to view student information such as:

• Class schedules
• Class assignments AND grades
• Attendance records
• Set grade notifications
• Transportation designation
• Food service PIN#
• Counselor and teacher contact information
• Integrated mobile App
• Parents/guardians must have a Home Access Center (HAC) account to request a student transfer

Stoles for 2025 graduates are available for purchase through the district CTE department. Emails to eligible students and their families have gone out, however we have notified the district of some discrepancies (where some students were missing from the eligibility list who should have received an email, but did not). The CTE department is currently reviewing this information and our campus is awaiting further direction and information at this time.
