Reading:We will read aloud multiple books and begin setting up Reader's Workshop. Students will be practicing how good reader's read quietly to self, whisper read with a partner, write about their reading, and more.
Writing:
We will begin Writer's Workshop focusing on why we write, writing ideas, and setting up our writer's notebook.
Math:
This week we will focus on place value to 1,000, representing numbers with base 10 blocks, writing numbers in word form, and showing numbers in expanded form. These skills help us build a better understanding and number sense.
Content:
We will continue to build our classroom community with team-building activities. We will also be using a series of Class Dojo activities to help our students learn about having a growth mindset.
