Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to the end of another busy week!
Congratulations to the Year 6 staff and pupils for a great SATS week. I don’t think I have ever seen in my twenty plus years of teaching, such a calm and focused group of young people. Whatever happens with the results, we are proud of you and we know you have tried your best. A special thanks to the staff team who have gone above and beyond to ensure the children were as prepared as they could be for this week. We mustn’t forget the lovely ladies in the kitchen who have ensured the children were well fed each day. We even had the SATS moderator from the Local Authority on Tuesday just to add something extra into the mix!
Today has been super sunny with the children in various outfits for ‘Yes Day!’ The children have had a wonderful time and school has been a riot of colour. Many thanks for your donations to the Friends of Kirk Fenton pot - it is greatly appreciated.
A big thanks for all of the pallets that you have donated this week - we will never not need them so please keep them coming! Our next item on the wish list is cable drums so if anyone has a stash of these they would be greatly appreciated!
On Monday and Tuesday next week, we will be conducting interviews for a class teacher. It has been really difficult to shortlist as we had 60 applications! We take this very seriously as we only want the best for our young people. As soon as we have any more information, we will let you know.
Have a great weekend,
Mel Walmsley

Message from Robin, Clerk to Church Fenton Parish Council.
I am delighted to inform you that the 20mph speed limit in the centre of the village has now been confirmed and will come into effect on Monday 19th May 2025. I have no information so far on when signs and road markings will be put in place.
This has been achieved largely through the efforts of the pupils and staff at Kirk Fenton school so I would like to thank you all on behalf of residents and the Council. A great achievement which will improve the safety and quality of life in the village.
