Ask Father or a Deacon....
You asked & the responses are in!
What is your favorite Bible verse or story?
- Deacon Mike: My favorite verse is Micah 6:8. It is a clear and succinct statement of what God expects of us - to act justly, love kindly, and walk humbly with your God.
- Deacon Mark: I love Revelation 3:20-21. "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. He who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I myself conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne." Also, Ephesians 1:3-14. In the Old Testament, 1st Samuel....I named my son after him because of this text.
What verse(s) do you read when you feel stressed?
- Deacon Mike: In times of stress, I turn to the Beatitudes from Matthew 5:3-12. In those blessings, Jesus reveals what is truly important in our lives.
- Deacon Mark: Any of the Passion stories, John's "Washing of the Disciples Feet" in chapter 13, and 1 Kings Chapter 19 - Elijah's Flight to Mount Horeb.
