April 2025
Spring into Fun – April Happenings at the Senior Center!
Spring has arrived, and with it comes a fresh lineup of activities, learning opportunities, and celebrations at the Senior Center! April is packed with fun, from creative crafts to lively discussions and brain-boosting games. Whether you're looking to test your TV trivia skills, dive into a new nutrition topic, or enjoy some quality time with friends, there's something for everyone this month.
We'll kick things off with Power of Protein (April 1), where we’ll explore how protein keeps us strong and energized. Game lovers can look forward to Round Table Games (April 8), featuring Headbandz, Spoons, and Qwirkle—perfect for sharpening your mind while having a blast! Mid-month, we'll settle in for a Young @ Heart Movie and Discussion (April 15), followed by a festive morning of Easter Egg Painting with the Kids Center (April 17), bringing generations together for creativity and fun.
April also brings a chance to test your knowledge with TV Trivia (April 23), take a virtual journey to Montana for Travel Thursday (April 24), and learn valuable health insights from Penn State Health (April 28). Plus, our Spring Into Nutrition: Leafy Greens (April 29) session will highlight the many benefits of adding greens to your diet, and Mental Health America (April 30) will share ways to support emotional well-being.
And, of course, we can’t forget to celebrate! Our All-Day Birthday Celebration (April 22) is the perfect time to honor everyone turning a year older. We will celebrate with laughter, friendship, and everyone will receive a cupcake with a candle!
As always, we encourage you to join us for meals, daily activities, and the wonderful sense of community that makes the Senior Center such a special place. Looking forward to sharing another great month with all of you!
April Craft Club: Candel Painting
This month, our Craft Club will explore a unique way to decorate candles by adding layers of wax for a beautiful painted effect! Join us on April 16 at 1:30 PM to get creative and make a one-of-a-kind candle to take home. No prior experience is needed—just bring your creativity!

This month’s Advisory Council meeting brought together five dedicated members to discuss important topics and upcoming plans for the Senior Center. A key focus of the meeting was planning for our Spring Picnic, ensuring it will be a fun and engaging event for all attendees.
Members also reviewed the exciting activities scheduled for April, including games, nutrition programs, and creative workshops. Additionally, we had a great conversation about ways to increase attendance at the center, exploring ideas to spread the word and encourage more participation in our daily programs.
We appreciate the input and enthusiasm of our Advisory Council members as we continue working together to make the center a welcoming and vibrant place for all!
If you’d like to have a voice in shaping the senior center’s activities and events, we invite you to join the Advisory Council! We currently have one open seats and would love for you to be a part of the team.

Geri-Fit is Back!
We’re excited to announce that Geri-Fit is returning this April! Starting April 3, classes will be held on Mondays and Thursdays at 1:30 PM. This strength-training program is a great way to build muscle, improve balance, and stay active.
Please note: Moving forward, participants should enter the gym using the hallway doors. To access them, please enter through the main doors and proceed down the hallway. We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to seeing you back in class!
Free Table Guidelines
The free table in the hallway of our community center is for food items only. Please note that the items on this table are donated, and some may be past their expiration date. If you choose to take any items, please check the packaging and use your best judgment. Thank you for helping us keep this space organized and available for those who can use it.
Easter Egg Sales!
Our Easter Egg Sales have been a huge success this year! Thanks to the incredible support of our seniors and the community, we’ve been able to expand our offerings to include not only our classic eggs but also delicious marshmallow and raspberry cream-filled varieties. These sweet treats have been flying off the shelves, and we’re so grateful for everyone who has helped make this fundraiser a success.
Every purchase supports the Senior Center and helps us continue offering engaging activities, meals, and programs for our members. If you haven’t gotten your Easter eggs yet, there’s still time to grab some before they’re gone! Thank you for your continued support!
