Lake Bluff Elementary School Family Newsletter
Hello Lake Bluff Families,
I hope that everyone had an enjoyable break and had time to relax and rejuvenate. I know I enjoyed my time with my family and I even had a chance to relax and knit.
As we return to school, we are reminded how frigid the temperatures can get. Please make sure your student is dressed for weather. There is a graphic below for your reference and also a picture of me on how I dress for recess. Also, please regularly check with your student that their belongings came home with them. We donated many bags of our lost and found and we hope we will not have so much to donate on our next round.
It's hard to believe we are thinking of school year 25-26, but we are! 4K registration will open January 1, 2025. Please spread the news with your friends and neighbors. All Shorewood residents who will be 4 years old by September 1, 2025 are welcome to enroll.
With winter upon us, it is time to start making the ice rink and we are asking adults to help keep the kids off the ice while it freezes. If kids were to be on the ice or throw items into the ice before it is frozen, it would delay the opening of the rink. Thank you for your assistance.
Kind Regards,
Johanna French, Interim Principal
Meet our Staff
Every week we will try to showcase some important people that you may not know who contribute to the success of Lake Bluff.
Katy Richards
Ms. Richards works for Milestones and supports our students during lunch and recess. Ms. Richards holds a Psychology degree from University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. Some of her favorite things about her job is working with students of various ages, being outdoors, and arts & crafts. I think her smile says it all!
Ms. Richards's Fun Fact: Ms. Richards has 2 sisters: one with red hair and the other black hair. Between the 3 of them, they represent the rainbow of hair color.
The Instructional Calendar Committee
The Instructional Calendar Committee will meet on December 10 at 5 pm in the Shorewood High School Library Media Center to review a draft 2025-2026 school calendar. Parents/guardians are welcome to attend, and no RSVP is necessary.
