Thanksgiving Lunch
We look forward to a yummy Thanksgiving lunch on Thursday, November 21st. Remember, we will only have meals for those who pre-ordered. Guests will check in at the table in the bell tower and receive their envelope of tickets.
Students will not be able to attend a different lunch time to join others due to class schedules and the management of times with so many extra guests. In the past, parents have just stayed and sat with the other child at their lunch time. In addition, parents and guests are only able to stay in the cafeteria. No one will be able to walk back up to the classrooms, etc. Thank you for your understanding in helping to manage the bigger crowd for the day.
See below for our slightly adjusted lunch schedule to help accommodate the number of guests.
Thank you to our cafeteria staff for providing such a wonderful meal for our Fork Shoals family! It is truly a favorite day! Get your stretchy pants ready!

PTA Reflections
Attention Students: Do you have a talent in Film Production, Dance Choreography, Literature, Music, Photography, or Visual Arts? If so, then the Reflections Arts Program is just for you! The Reflections Arts Program has inspired millions of students to reflect on a specific theme and create original artwork based on that theme. Each year, students are recognized for bringing the theme to life!
We wanted to let you know that this year's theme for the 2024-2025 school year is "ACCEPTING IMPERFECTIONS." The deadline for entries to be submitted is January 10th, 2025. Every student who enters will receive an ice-cream treat at lunch. Classes that have 15 % or more entries will be entered to win a class pizza party for the most entries! Teachers who have 15% or more entries will also be entered to win a $20.00 Amazon gift card!

We will not be able to accept any work without the required form attached to it.
Lost and Found (p. 20 Student Handbook)
A Lost & Found container is maintained in the school cafeteria. To help minimize lost articles, student names should be put on items of clothing. Unclaimed articles are donated to the clothing bank in December and at the close of school in June. Any money or jewelry should be turned in to the office.
PARENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO CHECK THE LOST AND FOUND OVER THE NEXT MONTH WHEN VISITING SCHOOL FOR VARIOUS EVENTS.
Change in Assignment School Choice Lottery Window
Greenville County Schools’ Change in Assignment (CIA) School Choice Lottery Window will be available from November 21 through December 6, 2024 where parents can submit a choice request form for up to three schools for their child at their number one choice school.
Choice request forms are available at every school (except magnet schools) and must be completed and submitted at the number one choice school. This form is not available online. Order of receipt of CIA form at schools during the CIA Lottery Window does not affect selection.
All parents/guardians interested in applying for a possible CIA school choice slot at a school other than their assigned school based on their resident address should apply during the Change in Assignment Choice Lottery Window. Parents of 2025-26 kindergarten students should apply during the CIA Lottery Window (do not wait until kindergarten registration). This includes parents who already have a sibling at the school.
A lottery will be conducted and results will be posted no later than February 12, 2025 on the GCS website, reflecting the numerical order of applicants. Results provide the order of applicants by grade for each school only and do not reflect assignment or approval. This list is static and does not reflect waitlist number(s) after initial choice allocations. Parents can access lottery numerical order results by using their CIA choice form number and it is suggested parents take a picture of the form to avoid misplacement of the CIA number. Later, available space by grade level will determine the choice assignments for each school.
Change in Assignment Choice notification letters will be mailed to parents/guardians by March 31, 2025, advising if the student received a slot at a requested school or if placed on a waitlist. Waitlist numbers will be provided.
This process does not include GCS’s magnet schools. Please directly contact the magnet school of interest.
LEO Toy Drive
A box will be set up in the bell tower to collect from now until December 3rd!
