4th & 5th Grade Open House
On Thursday, Oct 3 at 5:30 PM, we invite all 4th and 5th grade students and their families to come to school and learn more about their child's teachers, academic goals, specials classes, and school programs. We would love to see all 4th and 5th grade families attend and continue building a strong school-home relationship with this year’s teachers.
Upcoming Safety Practices
This Thursday, we are having our first fire evacuation practice in the afternoon.
- We will tell students about the practice in the morning on Thursday. It will not be a surprise practice.
- With this being our first fire drill, we will not use the alarm. Instead, an announcement will be made, and students will exit the building with their class.
- To support regulation, teachers may use a calming strategy before and/or after the practice.
- Student Services staff will also be available to support any students having difficulty. Please reach out to your child's teacher or me, Katie Hauge, if you have any questions or concerns.
Next week, all classes will complete a safety lesson that encourages everyone to "See something, Say Something." Reporting concerns, unsafe behavior, or threats supports our safety. The lesson also reminds students that we have several options in our safety plan - hold, hide, or leave - and the adults will tell them what to do. Student Services staff will also be available during or after the lessons to support students and answer questions.
Reminder: Hanneman and Garfield Intersection
No right turn or u-turn 7:30-8:30AM and 3:00-4:00PM
Traffic Reminders
- Arrive after 7:40 a.m. That is when staff supervision is available.
- Use the loop drive in the front of the school for drop off/pick up. Stop next to the curb to get out of/in your vehicle, so you won’t cross in front of traffic. Vehicles should not be parked in this loop.
- Adults should park in the front lot if they need to enter the building or wait with their child.
- Adults may park on Hanneman Blvd. or Lincoln St.
- Do not park in the lot near our gym and playground.
- Please follow all posted signs, including no right turn or u-turn before or after school.
- Be mindful of pedestrians and follow crossing guard directions
Thank you!
