Hat Day, Friday, October 25th.
Please support the Interact Club's October Fundraiser "Hat Day" which will benefit the nonprofit Embrace Emily.
On Friday, October 25th, students can donate $1 (or more) to wear their favorite hat to school. Students will receive a pink ribbon to show they have donated to participate.
Embrace Emily is a local nonprofit on a mission to empower members of our community who are affected by breast cancer and other cancers by helping to offset costs associated with treatment.
They provide assistance for things like copays, alternative cancer treatment costs, groceries, utility bills, and mortgage payments to name a few.

Students of the Month
Congratulations to our Students of the Month for September! Students are nominated based on displaying the virtue of the month. For September the virtue was Respect. Recognized students received a certificate and a $10 gift card. Congratulations!

Picture Retakes
Jostens is the photo company for Hart this year instead of Van Gogh. Please see the picture below for the QR code and school access code to view your child's Fall pictures and retakes. You can also click the link below:
The pin number requested is your child's computer login/lunch pin number.
Customer Care - Jostens
Our Customer Care team can help answer any questions your families may have after Picture Day. They are available Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm Central. They can be reached by phone (1-877-515-1447, Option 1).
Culver's on Early Release Days
Basic rules and expecations at Culver's on early-release days
- Students are allowed to Dine-In without an adult from 11:15am until 12:30pm only on early release days. At 12:30pm we will be asking students to finish their food (they may take it with them), to leave the restaurant to go home.
- No outside Food or Drinks are allowed inside Culver's.
- Students must purchase food from Culver's in order to be in the dining area.
- Students must purchase their food before sitting down in the dining area.
- Students must clean up after themselves and be respectful.
- Students may be asked to leave if the staff at Culver's feel they are not following directions or if they are being disruptive to other students and/or customers.
- James Hart admin and staff may not always be available to help supervise students at Culver's on early release days due to scheduled meetings.

Veterans Day
In honor of our veterans, Panther TV will be compiling photos for their annual Veteran's Day video. If your student has someone in the family they would like featured in the video, we ask that you please send the following information to Mrs. Cieplucha at cherylyn.cieplucha@hsd153.org no later than Wednesday, November 6th. The video will be available on our Panther TV channel once it's completed. Please reach out to Mrs. Cieplucha if you have any questions.

Spirit Wear Shirts
We have maroon spirit wear shirts available for purchase in the school store on Parent Portal (adult sizes). The cost is $10.
The Illinois Girls Lead Program
The Illinois Girls Lead Program is looking for girls in Grades 5-12 who have a strong desire to learn about the inner working of state government. The program offers the opportunity to shadow a woman in state government, including Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton, state legislators, agency heads, communications directors, and chiefs of staff. Please share this opportunity with your students and encourage them to apply!
Applications for the Illinois Girls Lead Program are due Oct. 27.
Food Service Information
Free and Reduced Lunch Information
To All Families: Please be advised that those who qualified for free or reduced priced meals from the 23-24 school year and have not yet reapplied for the 24-25 school year will no longer receive free or reduced meals beginning October 1st. If you are unsure if you have qualified for the 24-25 school year please contact our food service director at anne.simons@hsd153.org or call 708.922.2417. Be sure to include your child's first and last name in your messages.

Food Deliveries
We do not accept food deliveries for students (Door Dash, Grub Hub, Jimmy John's, etc.). If there is an attempt to deliver food for a student from a delivery driver, we will send the food back with the driver.
