National Teacher Appreciation Week Announcement from Michigan Dept of Education
National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6-10, 2024. The Michigan Department of Education’s (MDE) Office of Educator Excellence (OEE) wishes to celebrate teachers across Michigan for the entire month of May.
MDE invites parents to submit 15-30 second videos of their students recognizing and thanking a specific teacher for their impact. Nothing fancy is required—cell phones can capture the videos. Please follow the directions on the flyer. Videos and parental consent may be submitted via the Teacher Appreciation Video Project Google Form. Videos are currently being accepted until Friday, April 19, 2024.
Submitted videos may be posted on the Teacher Appreciation Month webpage and the MDE’s YouTube channel. The Office of Educator Excellence Facebook (@MIeducator) and X (formerly Twitter) social media pages will be promoting the videos throughout the month of May.
If you have a child with great things to say about a teacher, don’t hesitate—use the instructions found on our website to submit a video today!
Dismissal Procedures for parent pick ups NEW UPDATE 4-15-24
Dismissal will be in the back of the building for parent pick ups. Dismissal begins at 3:40 Please do not pull up in the back before 3:20.
We are asking that all parents park on the black top in the back and not in the bus loop. The bus loop is for overflow only. Cars have been blocking one of our driveways which is blocking parents from entering and exiting. We will be putting cones out to block the portion of the bus loop closest to the building. At 3:35 those cones will be removed in order for cars to exit. No one should park on the bus loop closest to the building or in front of our dumpsters.
IF YOU ARRIVE AFTER 3:45, YOUR CHILD WILL BE BROUGHT TO THE FRONT OFFICE TO WAIT UNTIL YOU ARRIVE. PLEASE CALL THE SCHOOL TO LET US KNOW YOU ARE RUNNING A LITTLE LATE.

FOOD SERVICE MENU'S/PAYMENTS/ALLEGERIES/DIETARY RESTRICTIONS
Menus/Nutrislice
Nutrislice will continue to be the source for menus. You may download the Nutrislice app on any smart phone or view it on a web browser. You may also print a weekly or monthly menu from the Nutrislice website. https://huronschools.nutrislice.com/ You may also use Nutrislice to view nutritional & allergen information.
Please keep in mind that menus are always subject to change. We do our best to adhere to our menus and will update them accordingly. The supply chain is still having issues with production and therefore we may experience some out of stocks. W e ask that you check the online menus daily if you are concerned about allergies or call the food service office at 734-782-1710 for the most up to date information regarding menus.
My Payments Plus
My payments plus is a great resource for Huron families. This service allows you to load money on your student’s account, check account balances and transactions, and it even allows you to set restrictions and account alerts. If you have not yet registered
before, you will need your student’s ID number. You can email me at stetze@huronschools.org if you need your student’s ID number.
Use the following links regarding my payments plus:

Medical Dietary Restriction
If your child has any allergies or medical dietary restrictions, a Medical Dietary Form needs to be filled out every year and sent to the food service office in order to ensure we have the most up to date info at all times. By doing this, we are able to see your child’s dietary needs at the point of service and will be able to ensure your student is only eating meals that are safe for them.
Please feel free to reach out to Eric Stetz if you have any questions or concerns regarding the Food Service Department.
