A Message from Officer Barrera, SRO

Hello Pleasant View Family,

I am officer Barrera, the School Resource Officer here at Pleasant View Elementary. I am sure you have seen me around the school specifically at drop off in the morning and pick up in the afternoons. My goals during these times are to greet the students and make sure parents and family members are staying safe around the school. My specific goals are to make sure all students are safe at school and that our families are following the rules of the road in the school parking lot and around our schools.

Please make sure you are using the correct parking lot, entering and exiting correctly, and keeping the crosswalks clear and visible for our staff who are crossing students.

If you plan on using Black Cat, Gondola, Ladle Rapids, Enysford, Colosseum, Vasto, and/or Anatole to pick up or drop your children off, please follow the rules of the road. These include but are not limited to: speed, cell phone use, parking, blocking driveways, blocking fire hydrants, and parking in driveways of the residents. I plan to enforce these laws and more if I see violations occurring in my presence. If we want the kids who attend Pleasant View to be kind and courteous, we need to practice these with our community members as well.

Hearing and Vision Screenings Begin Next Week!

We still have 313 students who have not had their Medical Information updated in SchoolForms within PowerSchool. Please note that Nurse Carrie cannot offer treatment or support without this consent, including these basic screenings.

If you would like her to be able to support your child in the Health Office, here are the steps:

•Log in to PowerSchool

•Click on “School Forms”

•Select “medical” under your student’s name

•Update any necessary information

•Click on “Save Form”

•***Complete medical consent form***

Special Education Paraprofessional (17.5 hours)
Crossing Guard for Gondola in the front of the school (AM ONLY)
Noon Duties M, W, F (2 needed) and subs for this position.

Pick Up and Staff Parking Lot

Thank you for working with us on our pick up and drop off routine. We still need your support with the following areas:

Please be sure to pull up all the way before loading or unloading students.
Make sure students can load and unload curbside. We cannot have them in the drive aisle.
You may not park in the staff parking lot and cross students
Follow the directives of the staff. They are enforcing the procedures to keep all students safe.

Thank you for being patient with one another while working through the traffic.

Lost and Found Procedures

Due to the large population and lack of space, Lost and Found will be cleared out the last Friday of every month. We will bag and keep for about a week before these are donated. *Water bottles and lunch boxes will be thrown away weekly.
