As we step into the week ahead, I'm thrilled to announce that it's Teacher Appreciation Week! This is an extraordinary occasion for us to recognize and celebrate the incredible contributions of our dedicated educators who continuously inspire, support, and empower our students to reach their fullest potential.

Our teachers are the heart and soul of our school community, and their unwavering commitment to excellence in education does not go unnoticed. Whether it's staying late to collaborate with colleagues or families, going above and beyond to create engaging lesson plans, or simply showing compassion for their students, our teachers consistently demonstrate their passion for teaching and their genuine care for each and every one of our students.

I encourage each and every one of you to join me in expressing gratitude and appreciation for our exceptional educators during Teacher Appreciation Week and beyond. Whether it's a simple thank you note, a kind gesture, or a heartfelt conversation, let's take the time to recognize the invaluable contributions of our teachers and celebrate the profound impact they have on our school community.

We want to share an update about the principal hiring process and opportunities for family engagement with the Bridport, Cornwall, and Shoreham communities.

- Incoming Supt. Dr. Baker has met with Bridport, Cornwall, and Shoreham staff to understand the characteristics and skills to ensure successful leadership at each school.

- The postings for the 3 principal positions closed yesterday, 5/3/24. The Superintendent will review applicants and forward a list of licensed, viable candidates with a positive leadership record to the ACSD Screening Committee.

- The Screening Committee, comprised of two representatives from each school, and two central office staff will schedule screening interviews in early May.

- All candidates forwarded by the screening committee will participate in local community "meet and greet" in all three schools. We hope to schedule these for May 15-17. Please look for an upcoming newsletter to confirm details and times at your school.

- The school community will be invited to share feedback after the meet and greet meetings. Based on all collected feedback, the Superintendent's Office will negotiate with candidates to ensure good matches between leaders and buildings.

- We hope to make successful offers in late May and be able to share our next principals with our school communities in late May/early June.

Upcoming Band Dates:

Friday May 10th- Combined Band rehearsal at Salisbury (12:30-1:45)

Monday May 20th- Combined Band rehearsal at MUHS (12:30-1:45)

Monday May 20th- Combined Band concert at MUHS 6:30 PM (6:00 call)

We are on week two for baseball practice. We have 5 teams and 70 kids participating which is amazing.

Stay tuned for home game updates as we would love to have people come cheer us on. Games will start the second week of May and will be every Tuesday-Minors, Wednesday-Mighty mites, Thursday-T-ball at 6pm.

We are actively working to remove the old wood posts and install new posts and a sign with a scoreboard as well down by the field.

With the number of teams we have we are looking to rip up the grass and set up another dirt field down below by the firehouse.
