Principal's Message
We are off to a wonderful start of the school year. It was great to see so many families at Back to School Night and our first PTA meeting. We are looking forward to many more fun activities as the year continues.
As always the safety and security of our students is our number one priority, therefore we ask that you adhere to the following dismissal procedures, if applicable. If your child is scheduled to take a bus and you will not be utilizing bus transportation this year we ask that you sign the transportation waiver form by clicking this link. Please remember that if you are coming to pick your child up early we will call your child to the office when you arrive at school. Additionally, your child must be in school until 1:15 pm in order for it to count as a full day. We want all of our students to get the maximum amount of instructional time as possible each day.
The cafeteria has updated snack prices for this school year, and they are now $1.25 each. Students will not be able to buy snack if they do not have the correct amount or if they owe money on their account, so please check the portal to view an up to date status of your child's account.
We are looking forward to a great October with our Week of Respect, Terror in the Halls, Halloween festivities and much more. Please make sure to check our website and to join our Remind text group by texting @hmpparents to 81010. This will help you to get the most up to date information about what is taking place at school. Additionally, please make sure your information is updated in the Parent Portal, and that you opt in to receiving text reminders.

Global Cardboard Challenge
On Friday October 4 from 6-7pm the H & M Potter School will once again be participating in the Global Cardboard Challenge! Inspired by the short film, ‘Caine’s Arcade’, the Global Cardboard Challenge is an annual event presented by the Imagination Foundation to celebrate child creativity and the role communities can play in fostering it. Kids of all ages are invited to build anything they can dream up using cardboard, recycled materials and imagination. Families will work together to build a cardboard creation to put on display!
We are still accepting donations of cardboard until October 4. Please bring any donations to the Main Office. We could especially use any larger pieces of cardboard that you may have available. Thank you!
Terror in the Halls
Back by popular demand, Terror in the Halls returns for its 14th year! Potter School will be turned into a haunted attraction on Friday October 18 and Saturday October 19 from 7-10pm! Admission is $10 per person and that fee is non-refundable. Please remember that this is meant to be a scary attraction and not designed for young children. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Lights On Tour
Do you want to see how our school is amazingly transformed but do not want to be scared? Do you want to see if your youngster can handle the Haunted House? If so, join us on October 19 and for $2.00 per person you can take a behind the scenes tour of the attraction with the lights on and the scary effects off!
A form will be sent home the first week of October, please return the form and payment if you are interested in the Lights on Tour.
Halloween Parade
The Potter School Halloween Parade will take place on Thursday October 31, 2024 at 2:30pm. Students will dress in costumes for the parade. Only the two class parents will be allowed into the building on this day. Parents and family members are invited to the playground to view the parade. For safety reasons, costume masks will not be permitted for adults.
Please make sure costumes are safe for students to walk around in and easy for them to put on. Weapons are not allowed with costumes, please keep them home. Student safety is always our number one concern. We ask that you please refrain from signing your child out early on that day.
