Rittman Hydroponics Lab
The High School STEM classes have been participating in growing lettuce and herbs using hydroponic agriculture throughout the course of the year. We have provided fresh produce to our school cafeteria, teachers in the district, and The Server downtown. Hydroponic agriculture has many benefits such as conserving water, maximizing space, and year-round farming. Students have learned about the components that go into this type of agriculture as well as how to problem solve as they need to make adjustments to pH and nutrient levels to provide successful yields. They are doing an amazing job!
RHS Spanish Class Immersed in Cultural Extravaganza
Students from Rittman High School were treated to an immersive cultural experience at Jackson High School on March 18. The highlight of their visit was the Hispania American Show, a captivating performance by a traveling dance group from Florida.
The show, featuring traditional dances and rhythms from Spain and Latin America, allowed students to not only watch but also actively participate. Select students joined the professional dancers on stage, learning firsthand about the cultural significance of each dance style.
This interactive approach not only entertained but also educated students about the diversity within the Spanish-speaking world, important to expanding students' global perspectives.
As the Hispania American Show concluded, students returned to Rittman High School with a deeper appreciation for Spanish and Latin American culture. The Spanish department would like to thank Rittman administration for their support, Jackson HS for hosting, and performers for their talent and passion.
