SOUTH SCHOOL

We had another great week! Our kindergarteners started on Tuesday and made our school feel complete. Their excitement for school is contagious and they have quickly adjusted to the new routines. Our other students continue to be excellent role models throughout the building.

The morning drop-off was smoother this week and thank you for your help with that. Please continue to remember that we do not have staffing before 8:45. Please do not let children get out of the cars in the morning until you are directed to do so by a staff member.

We look forward to seeing you at our Open House on Wednesday night. We sent out additional informational by email last week and we will do so again this Tuesday.

The times are meant to be drop-in, so you can stop by multiple classrooms if needed. We ask that children be always accompanied by their parents or guardians when inside the building. On Tuesday, we will send out a school map so you will know where the classrooms are. We also welcome you out behind the school for some fun and to meet specialist teachers and various service providers.

Just to remind you, we have limited parking here at South. It would be greatly appreciated if many of our families could walk or carpool. In addition to the parking lots, you are welcome to park along Ballardvale Street. Please do not park out back, as that is reserved for teachers. Thank you.

We have started the use of Pick-Up Patrol and it has gone very successfully. All changes for dismissal need to be made through Pick Up Patrol by 2:00 each day.

NEW PARENTS: You have received a registration email with a link to set up your account. First, please register and then confirm your child’s Default Dismissal Plans.

• The PUP web app is free for parents and you can use it from your smartphone or computer.

• Instructions for how to add the app to your phone are included in the registration email.

• You will need to register before you can confirm your default plans.

RETURNING PARENTS: You have also received an email from PickUp Patrol. Please confirm your child's Default Dismissal Plans.

All students are able to receive 1 free breakfast and 1 free lunch daily during the 2024-2025 school year. Breakfast will be served in the cafeteria from 8:45 - 9:00 and does not need to be ordered ahead of time.

Lunches will need be preordered. It is very important that our cafeteria has an accurate lunch count each day. Please review with your children each morning what you have ordered for them.
