UHC Password Reset - Security Protocol Update
Updates to security protocol have recently been put into place when using the telephonic UHC customer service option to reset your www.myuhc.com password.
Please know that the UHC advocate may ask any or all of the following three security questions:
1. For privacy purposes, can you please verify the name of your primary care physician?
2. For privacy purposes, can you please verify the name of the physician that you saw on XX/XX/XXXX date of service?
3. For privacy purposes, can you please verify the name of a physician that you or a family member has seen within the last 60 days.
If the UHC Advocate feels they are speaking to a new member who has no PCP designation or claims history they may ask one of the following questions:
1. For privacy purposes, can you please verify the effective date of your coverage with UnitedHealthcare?
2. For privacy purposes, can you please verify the Year of the effective date of your coverage with UnitedHealthcare?
3. For privacy purposes, can you please verify the date of hire by your employer?
The member is only required to answer one of the three security questions, however, all security questions may be asked if necessary. If a member calls customer service and needs assistance with resetting their HealthSafe ID password they will be soft transferred to the myuhc.com Tech Support Team for assistance to resolve their issue and this is when these additional security questions will be asked. Please keep in mind we are asking these security questions to validate member identity to protect the members privacy and personal health information.
If the member does not feel comfortable providing this level of detail there is an option for a user to unlock their own account with the forgot username/password links on the www.myuhc.com home page, the reset/login directions would be sent to the member’s e-mail address to complete the process.
You are welcome to access your hire date information by logging into the Employee Access Center.
