LV Primary Parent News
October 30, 2024
Dear Primary Parents,
Happy Halloween! We have never been more thankful for a Friday off than we are this year! We wish everyone a safe and fun Halloween evening.
Tomorrow morning, our high school volleyball girls will be on hand to offer free face painting to all students before school in the cafeteria to spread Homecoming spirit. Arrive early to get in line. 6:45-7:20.
We also have ribbon sales! Send in your $1. Go Bears!
Finally, mums/garters are welcome tomorrow along with school appropriate costumes. Our students will have a dance party 7:25-7:35 tomorrow, so don't be late!
We have a huge favor to ask of our afternoon dual car riders. If you have an intermediate student, please do NOT arrive toward the front of the line. With the construction path, it is taking a little longer for intermediate to arrive, so please stay back in the line.
Student attendance is taken at 9:30 am daily, please keep this in mind when making appointments. A student must be here at 9:30 am to be counted present for the day. A student may only miss 15 school days total for the year (excused or unexcused.)
If you have a first grader, be aware of the program for next week and see the flyers below.
Thank you,
Mrs. Keck
Principal
Important Reminders!!!
Ribbon Sale tomorrow- $1 each before school!
Parent Behavior Tip of the Week
Focus: Praising Positive Behavior
How do you currently approach praising your child’s good behavior, and what impact do you think it has on them?
Praising good behavior is a powerful way for parents to reinforce positive actions in their children and is crucial for their development. When you notice your child doing something commendable—like sharing toys, helping a sibling, or completing a task—take a moment to acknowledge it with specific praise. Instead of simply saying "Good job," highlight what they did well, such as, "I really appreciated how you helped your sister with her homework; it shows how kind and responsible you are." This specific feedback boosts their confidence and encourages them to repeat that behavior in the future. By expressing your pride genuinely and warmly, you create a supportive environment where children feel valued and motivated to continue making positive choices. This reinforcement not only helps children develop a sense of right and wrong but also strengthens the parent-child bond and fosters a growth mindset, teaching them that their actions can lead to positive outcomes.
