Message from our Principal
Hello Eagle Families!
This is our FINAL Eagle Flyer of the school year. Our next communication will be sometime during the first week of August with information regarding the 2024-2025 school year.
I would like to take a moment to thank all our families for a wonderful 1st year as Weathersfield's Principal. Your warm welcome, kindness, and support made this experience absolutely amazing. Thank you so much! I can't wait to continue on this journey with all of you.
A few new things I'd like to mention again:

All of our students join in the fun to cheer them on!! In fact, we have such a wonderful time here at Weathersfield, that both NBC news and the Ventura Star are expected to cover the festivities! Our graduating seniors will be on campus from 1-2pm.
- ELOP ends on Wednesday, June 12; therefore, ELOP will not be available on the last day of school.
- Child Care will be available on the last day of school, June 13, for students who are currently registered only.

5th Grade Culmination - IMPORTANT DETAILS
Is your child Culminating this year? Congratulations!! Please review these important details regarding the Culmination ceremony on Wednesday, June 12:
- The Culmination ceremony begins at 9:00am on the upper grade blacktop.
- Seating for the ceremony is first-come, first-serve after the gates open at 8:30am. Sorry, but attempting to save seats prior to 8:30am is not allowed. Families, please line up at gate #6 for entry to the Culmination ceremony, which is located nearest the lunch tables.
- The ceremony ends at approximately 10:00am and will be followed by an opportunity to mingle, take photos, and enjoy a beverage and snack supplied by our PTA.
- At 10:45am, the students will partake in a time-honored tradition at Weathersfield, the 5th Grade Tunnel. This is a very fun and festive event! The whole school gathers to send our 5th graders off in style! Be sure to have your cameras and tissues ready.
- After the tunnel, we encourage parents to sign their 5th grade students out of school for the remainder of the day as there are no further activities planned for them. We will have have a table set up with student sign-out sheets inside of gate #3, which is nearest the health office.
IF YOUR 5TH GRADER HAS A YOUNGER SIBLING who also attends Weathersfield, whom you would like to have attend the 5th Grade Culmination ceremony, this is allowed. Following is the process to make it happen:
- Send your student to their classroom as per normal so that they are included in the classroom attendance count. You need not accompany your student to the classroom.
- Come to the Front Office to sign your student out of school. A sign-out table will be set up and staffed outside in front of the Front Office from 8:00am-9:00am. REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR PHOTO ID. The staff member working at the table will issue you a pass that you may use to go collect your student directly from their classroom once you've been admitted to campus for the Culmination ceremony.
- Line Up in front of Gate #6, which is near the lunch tables, for entry to attend the Culmination Ceremony.
- Once you've been admitted to campus to attend the Culmination Ceremony, take the pass you were issued over to your child's classroom, give the pass to your child's teacher, and request that your child be released into your care. Student pick-up from the classroom may happen between 8:35-9:00am.
- If your student will be returning to class after the Culmination celebration ends, please BRING YOUR STUDENT TO THE FRONT OFFICE in order to sign them back in to school. Your student may then return to class. If your student will be leaving for the day following the Culmination celebration, no further action is needed as you've already signed them out of school. They may leave campus with you when you depart.
IMPORTANT: Parents, please understand that younger siblings attending 5th Grade Culmination MUST sit quietly with you during the ceremony and at any events following and/or related to the ceremony. They may not wander around or play on any of the campus playground equipment. If you feel concerned that your younger child(ren) may have difficulty complying with these requirements, they may be happier remaining in their own classrooms or at home with a sitter. Thank you for understanding.
SUMMER OFFICE HOURS
Friendly Reminders
- Lost & Found - We have donated over ten (10) 65 gallon trash bags packed full of unclaimed Lost & Found clothing items (primarily jackets, hoodies, and sweatshirts). The Lost & Found rack is full again. Please check our Lost & Found for your child's garments. Also, we strongly suggest you label your child's outer garments with (at least) their last name to better assist in returning these items to their owners.
- Thousand Oaks Library Summer Reading Program: Just because school will be out for summer, doesn't mean the books will on summer break too.
