It's Back-to-School Time!
Noticed an uptick in traffic? Most schools have started back up for the fall semester, and buses are carrying children to and fro each morning and afternoon throughout the neighborhood. Just a friendly reminder to DRIVE SLOWLY, and keep an eye out for children walking In the neighborhood. It can be scary walking to the bus stop with cars zooming by!

Fill out the neighborhood survey below for a chance to win! Every resident who completes the survey during the first two weeks of September will be entered into a raffle drawing to win a $50 gift card. The raffle drawing will take place on September 16, at our monthly board meeting.
End of Summer HOT DEAL!
If you didn’t join the pool this summer and would like to cool off and enjoy some time at the pool before the season ends, we are offering an end-of-summer special two for one deal! Pay the one-month membership fee of $120 and you can join the pool for the last TWO months of the season (September and October). In addition to that, we will waive the $50 one-time new member fee! Payment can be made via PayPal or you can drop a check off in the HOA mailbox. You will also need to complete the pool membership agreement and return it along with your payment. Holiday Craft Fair Vendors: Early Registration Opens Up on 9/20!
The 2024 Granada Hills HOA Holiday Craft Fair will take place on Saturday, December 7th, from 12-4pm. This event brings a variety of talented artists and artisans from in and around our neighborhood! If you are a returning vendor, be sure to grab your spot during Early Registration, which opens on September 20th. If you are a new vendor and would like to host a booth this year, registration will open September 27th. Keep an eye out for more details via email, our website, and social media!
The last day to register to vote in the November 5 General Election is October 7
- You must be registered to vote at your address in the county. You will need to register to vote in Travis County if you have recently moved from another Texas county or from out of state.
- Teens can register to vote when they are 17 years old and 10 months as long as they will be 18 on or before election day.
- To register to vote, you can find information and forms on the Travis County Tax Office website. https://tax-office.traviscountytx.gov/voters
Upcoming Events
Neighborhood Happy Hour Meetup at the Pool - Friday, September 13th
Come celebrate the end of the workweek with your Granada Hills Board Members and neighbors down at the pool. We will have some drinks, light snacks, and free swim! Be on the lookout for a separate email with details about time and what you can bring.
HOA Monthly Board Meeting - Monday, September 16th, @ 6:30 pm
The Granada Hills HOA Board meets once a month to discuss updates and needs of the neighborhood, respond to requests from committees, plan events, and vote on any expenditures or other changes. If you would like to attend a meeting, reach out to board@granadahills.org.
Granada Hills Semi-Annual Garage Sale - Saturday, October 12
Spread the word and join with households around the neighborhood for our community-wide garage sale. Households are welcome to have a few items or a whole yard full of treasures. Please email Emily Lawson, our volunteer Garage Sale Coordinator, at emilyclairelawson@gmail.com with your address if you plan to participate. She will advertise a list of participating addresses. (only addresses received by October 5th will be included in the advertisement, but you are welcome to participate whether or not you submitted your address!) Please plan to mark your home/driveway with a flashy sign to draw people in as they drive around the neighborhood.

Talk to your neighbors about the HOA
Thank you for becoming a member of the HOA! Your membership and participation is what helps keep our neighborhood running smoothly. As a reminder, your dues pay for….
- Community events, like 4th of July, It's My Park Day & Movie Nights
- Holiday events like the Easter Celebration, Trunk-or-Treat, Craft Fair and Santa in the Park
- Park improvements: Mural, Granada Hills sign, gaga pit, etc.
- Lawn care, tree care, and landscaping in shared park spaces
- Lights around the basketball and tennis court
- Streetlights at Gallant Fox (north and south) and FM 1826, making those intersections safer
- Water in shared park spaces
- Playscape maintenance and improvements
- Tennis court upkeep (and new pickleball lines)
- Property taxes and garbage collection for the park
- Port-a-potty at the park
- Neighborhood safety efforts, like the radar feedback speed limit sign
- Welcome gifts for new families moving in
- And many other things we all enjoy and benefit from
We are a volunteer-run organization, and we rely on volunteer memberships to cover costs. Please help us increase membership and make Granada Hills even better! Help Welcome New Neighbors to GH!
Are you a small business owner, a creator, or just someone with connections? We are looking for donations of local products to include in the welcome bags (locally grown honey, wine, snacks, coupons, Granada Hills branded items, etc.) or cash donations to allow us to purchase items from our online Granada Hills Store. Block Parties
Having a block party is a great way to bring neighbors together and build community. If you would like to plan a block party for your street, the HOA would love to support your initiative! Please reach out to board@granadahillshoa.org to discuss how we can support your efforts.
Neighborhood Advertisements
Bowie High School Band's community program will deliver to your front yard a full-size American flag (and then remove and store it) in time for six national holidays throughout the year! The Bowie high school band is one of the top bands in the entire nation. They rely on the support of their community to be able to compete at the top level that they do, with other bands across the nation! Please help support this amazing program by subscribing today!
