The upcoming week at VMMS will be very exciting! We will be hosting Spring Student-Led Conferences on 3/12 & 3/13. Please see below for more information!
As an IB school, Service as Action is ingrained in the fabric of our curriculum and school culture. Vipers develop global citizenship as they learn about social issues and communities in need. The urge to act and serve others is essential to developing the IB profile traits of risk-taking, being caring and being principled.
With that in mind, our 8th grade Vipers are in full swing with completing their Community Project action phases—and they need your help!
Many students are collecting donations for local charities including items such as: canned food, pet items, books and more. If you are able, please bring an item to donate to one of these charities on your student's conference day this Wednesday (3/12) or Thursday (3/13). All items will be collected in the Band Room.

Our Spring Student-Led Conferences are fast approaching THIS WEEK on March 12th and 13th. Minimum day dismissal at 12:00.
At this time your Viper, should have already provided you with access to the Conference Schedule and you have signed up for a date and time. All students were given directions of how to sign up and will have access to the available dates and times via their Advisory class. Ask your Viper!
If you have not signed up and need assistance, please contact your student's Advisory teacher.
As an IB school, the student-led conference is a vital touchpoint in your Viper's educational journey. During the conferences, you will talk about the Semester 1 report card, iReady Diagnostic data, CAASPP (CA Assessment of Student Performance & Progress) data, and revisit their goal from the Fall Student-Led Conference.
At VMMS, we place an strong emphasis on the home-school partnership. Thank you for being a part of our Village!
The California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) is an annual survey that is administered to students, staff, and parents/guardians. Please see a recent VUSD Community Update regarding details on the CHKS. Last week, all Viper families received a grade level email with information regarding the consent forms.
6th grade: It is required for you to complete the following FORM to indicate permission for your child to take the survey OR to indicate your wish to opt your child out from taking the survey.
7th & 8th grade: All students will take the survey, unless you indicate you would like your child to OPT OUT. Please call the office at 760-726-5766 or email vistamagnetms@vistausd.org
All consent forms DEADLINE EXTENDED to Monday, 3/10/25.
Survey will be administered in Advisory class on 3/17. Students who have opted out of the survey should report to the Library.

We need your help. Please complete the VUSD LCAP/Blueprint Input Survey. This is an opportunity to share important feedback regarding actions and services being provide to our students in VUSD. Read more HERE for the LCAP development process.

On Wednesday, 3/12 our Viper ASB will be hosting our 2nd Viper Belong Rally. The opportunity for all our students to engage and belong will feature:
- Our Viper Pep Squad
- Celebrating Viper Athletes from the Winter Season
- Grade Level Village Competitions
