LIVONIA CAREER TECHNICAL CENTER
NEWSLETTER~~~~~~~~~May 23, 2024
LCTC Community,
Today we say goodbye to the class of 2024. Throughout their time at LCTC, our seniors have engaged in rigorous academic and technical training, preparing them for a variety of college and career pathways. From mastering industry-specific skills to obtaining certifications and participating in work-based learning, they have shown exceptional dedication, passion and growth.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the families, friends, and community members who have supported our seniors throughout their journey. Your encouragement and involvement have been crucial to their success. LCTC staff and myself wish the class of 2024 all the best in their future endeavors. They leave us with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to succeed, and we have no doubt that they will go on to do great things.
A reminder for our juniors that there is no class in session on Friday, May 24th at the Career Center. Students should meet at the designated location for LCTC students at their home high school during their LCTC class time. There is no class in session Monday, May 27th and Tuesday, May 28th.
Wishing everyone a relaxing and safe holiday weekend.
With LCTC Pride,
Lindsay Gray

Students used the jaws of life, used the different types of water systems, and learned about the different features inside the "rig."

Cadet Petroni was a 2022 graduate of Stevenson High School and the LCTC Criminal Justice program. SPORTS MEDICINE CLASS
39 senior sports medicine students are now credentialed young professionals as they obtained their Certified Physical Therapy Aide certification this past week!
PRE-MEDICINE CLASS
Ms. Hinman's Pre-Med class is learning about the digestive system. Students participated in a lab that allowed them to experience first-hand the digestive system process!
ADVANCED SPORTS MEDICINE CLASS
The Advanced Sports Medicine students learned one last injury management skill this week when they were instructed on the proper steps required in order to safely spine-board an injured athlete on the field! MANY of them are going to continue their education in sports medicine, physical therapy, and exercise science next year in college and Ms.G is incredibly proud of each of them!
PRE-MEDICINE CLASS
With a lot of hard work and dedication, Mrs. Vertin had 12 Pre-Medicine senior students pass their EKG Technician National Credential Exam! These students have a lot to be proud of as they can now leave their program here at LCTC, enter the workforce, and perform as part of the field they have studied all year.
Congratulations to all of them!
This week, Pre-Medicine students took on the digestive system! They learned how the digestive system works, then we built one of our very own! Using common household items, the students made a working digestive system! After making a digestive system they took to drawing one on aprons! Their creativity shines through! As you can see by the smiles on their faces, learning about the digestive system was fun for all!!!
