MECA Family & Caregiver Update
November 6th, 2023
Dear MECA Families & Caregivers:
It was awesome seeing so many students and staff members participating in our fall Spirit Week. The Halloween costumes alone were extraordinary! We are now thrilled to be entering into this season of thanksgiving with all of you and are looking forward to our many November traditions, especially our Thanksgiving Feast which is scheduled to take place Wednesday November 22nd.
Updates regarding upcoming events are below, including fall Parent Teacher Conferences. This year, Parent Teacher Conferences will be conducted remotely. Appointments will be scheduled using a new platform, TeacherReacher. Instructions for account creation will be shared with all home adults later this week. As always, reach out to myself or Ms. Vivian with questions or concerns!

Please continue to return MECA Media Consent Forms!
While enrolled in MECA, students will be videotaped from time to time as we document their learning experiences. Video footage may be used, with your permission, to create promotional materials used for recruitment purposes in addition to media used to showcase best educational practices for schools within our immediate network.
MECA, along with several other schools in the CUNY/UA District, is working with Connect With Kids Network, a nationally renowned media company that produces materials used to promote innovative public school programs throughout the United States. You can see some of the work they are best known for here, the documentary Defining Us.
In support of our work with CWK, in addition to future projects, please fill out the attached media consent form and have your child return it to the Main Office room 239.
We are looking forward to sharing new media content with you soon!
