Mr. Kelly's and Mr. Charpentier's music students have been practicing intensely for the concert this coming Thursday evening. These pictures are from a group of beginning horn players who were working with Mr. Kelly on Tuesday afternoon. 11-7-2023

Students made mark making tools and then created painted papers that were used to construct these funky chickens. Ms. Montgomery.

One group of students were practicing their spelling skills. Another group met with librarian, Ms. Levine, to learn about the writer, adventurer, athlete Jan Reynolds.

Veterans Day is coming up and Team USA is preparing for it. Here are two flyers that should be of interest to our school community.

Renaissance is beginning to prepare for their annual operation happiness food drive. They are trying to collect many empty boxes for the food collection process that will take place after the November holiday. Over the next three weeks, bring any boxes you can spare to the team Renaissance classroom spaces. Thank you.

Finally! A chance for adults in your family to discover all of the amazing tools that the SACs makerspace has to offer. In this adult workshop, you will create and make a variety of projects with the STEAM Team, while your school-aged children have a pizza and movie night hosted by SACs staff.

Pre-registration is required! Limited to 20 Adults

Hello City School Students and Families,

Our second session of Open Doors will run November 27th - December 21st on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, depending on your choice of class. Dismissal/pick up time will be at 4:15 in the front of the school. Bussing is available, you will need to sign up (see transportation section). After school snacks will be provided.

Operation Happiness is a program of the United Way Northwest VT. It provides a basket of food and gifts for the children in a family (16 and under) for nearly 1000 needy families in Franklin and Grand Isle Counties for the Holidays (Christmastime).

Registration phone numbers, dates and times are based on location and listed in THIS DOCUMENT

For St. Albans you need to call and register on weekdays between November 6th and 17th.

November is Native American Heritage Month, or as it is commonly referred to, American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month. The month is a time to celebrate rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native people. Take a peek at the display in the library or follow this link to our virtual collection to explore these texts all month long!

When Sharice Davids was young, she never thought she’d be in Congress. And she never thought she’d be one of the first Native American women in Congress. During her campaign, she heard from a lot of doubters. They said she couldn’t win because of how she looked, who she loved, and where she came from.

But everyone’s path looks different and everyone’s path has obstacles. And this is the remarkable story of Sharice Davids’ path to Congress.

Beautifully illustrated by Joshua Mangeshig Pawis-Steckley, an Ojibwe Woodland artist, this powerful autobiographical picture book teaches readers to use their big voice and that everyone deserves to be seen—and heard!
