Library News
Ms. Halley, the Plympton School Library Teacher, is hosting a comic club after school on Mondays from 3 pm to 4:15 pm from January 6 through February 10 in the Plympton School LIbrary. Each week Plympton students explore a different aspect of creating comics, spend time developing ideas and creating their own comics. The Plympton Comic Club is open to students in 3rd to 5th grades.
Registration: Students who are interested can get a registration form from me, Ms. Halley, or their teacher. Please register by January 3. I can only accept 20 students. I will also create a waiting list if we have more students sign up than I am able to accept. Return registration forms to Ms. Halley.
Contact Ms. Halley at elizabethhalley@walthampublicschools.com with any questions.
Special Invitation: Parents and caregivers are invited to join us for the last half hour of the workshop on February 10 to see all of our beautiful work.
From the Administrator of English Language Learners
The WPS Multilingual Department is committed to building on the strengths of students. We value the cultural and linguistic knowledge your child contributes to our school community.
ACCESS testing will begin on January 6 and continue through February 14 in Waltham Public Schools. This evaluation is required for students who are English language learners. It will give us information about the progress of students. There are four sections to the test: listening, reading, writing, and speaking.
The score report will be sent home in June. Please call us if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Sara Hamerla, Ed.D.
