The 4-P's
Man! It's cold outside. Be sure to bundle up if you venture outdoors. My plans for tomorrow is to bundle up with a good book and relax. I hope all of you do something similar. No matter what you do stay warm.
Our district is in contact with Wiliiamson County and the National Weather Service. As we learn more about road conditions and incoming weather we will keep everyone informed. As of today, our plans are to have school as normal on Tuesday. We all know this could change and we will get the word out as soon as we know.
During cold weather there are four things to remember:
- Bring in your plants or wrap them up with plastic and blankets to help keep the cold out.
- Make sure all of your pets are dry and warm, bring them inside if possible.
- Wrap or insulate your pipes. At night open your cabinet doors under the sinks and leave your faucets dripping.
- Check on your people, make sure they are okay. Check on your elderly neighbors that may not have relatives close by.
Take care of yourselves and your family during this cold spell.

Grades & Attendance
It's hard to believe but the end of this week marks the end of the 3-week grading cycle. Please make sure you have talked about grades with your student and that they are turning in work, making corrections, and attending tutoring as needed.
When students are out they lose valuable instruction time that can not be made up. Please try to make any appointments they may have for after school when possible. Of course if they have to be out we will provide tutoring and give them copies of work they may be missing. I am attaching a copy of our Tutoring Schedule here so that you can view tutoring times for teachers.
We have quite a few activities happening this last semester. We will send out information on events as they draw near.
Response Protocols
Every school district has Standard Response Protocols that we follow for different emergencies that may arise. We practice each of these throughout the year, some are practiced multiple times a year. We want you to understand what each of the protocols mean and how they affect our campus and your student.
Here is a link that will take you to the Standard Response Protocols that JISD uses.
A Note from Your Principal
This is one of the things that I love about Jarrell. Even though we are growing at an exponential rate we still have that hometown feel and are able to see the excellent things our students do, even after they leave us. This is in part due to the parents and community member in Jarrell that keep in mind that the students are the center of our lives.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to JISD and Jarrell Middle School.
