AMP and AVID join forces
A huge shoutout and congratulations to AMP and AVID for the first GlennXTalks recording done on 11/13. Two JGHS Alumni, Arturo Nava (Harvard grad and current Lawyer) and Charisma Managhas (CSULB grad who battled Guillain Barre Syndrome), agreed to shoot our 1st episodes of Glenn Talks(JGHS' version of TEDx).
It was incredible, not only to listen to our speakers' stories (which you will all be able to see soon), but to also watch our students in action as they produced, directed, and recorded the event.
Be on the lookout for the recordings and be prepared to share them with your 4th period classes.

📚💻 ACADEMICS 🎓📝
ACE Students Visit CSUDH!
JGHS ACE students visited California State University, Dominguez Hills in early November. Students were excited to see the opportunities CSUDH has to offer, including classes that will support their continued learning about working with children and adolescents.
The ACE Program is focused on Careers in Education and students are exposed to dual enrollment courses while completing their CTE Pathway. This year, 3 additional dual enrollment courses were added through Cerritos College: Child Development, World History, and Introduction to Educational Technology. These 3 courses are in addition to the Introduction to Education course that serves as the senior capstone for the pathway.
Our ACE Eagles are taking advantage of the opportunities at JGHS and getting ready to soar!
September Student Awards
Congratulations to the recipients of the September Student Awards! Their hard work and dedication truly deserve recognition!
NO Cell Phone Use During Instructional Time
Eagles, this is a reminder that cell phones and other electronic devices are not permitted during instructional time. Our schoolwide cell phone policy states that ALL CELL PHONES AND OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICES MUST BE TURNED OFF AND OUT OF SIGHT DURING CLASS/INSTRUCTIONAL TIME. This means students should not use their phones at any point during class time, even if they step out of the classroom to use the restroom or go to the office. Starting Monday, 10/28, if you need to use the restroom during class time, your phone should remain in the classroom.
Cell phones and other devices, such as airpods, are permitted during snack and lunch, as well as before and after school. We take your education seriously and want to support your undivided attention to instruction and classwork. Thank you for your attention to this important expectation.
Edgenuity Session 2 - 10/21 - 12/13/24
Eagles! Edgenuity Session 2 runs from October 21 through December 13. You have the opportunity to complete 2 courses, which means at this point students should be starting their second course. If you are behind, there is time to catch up. Take advantage of the holiday week and use your time wisely!
Don't miss this opportunity to catch up on your credits for graduation and/or A-G. It'll be December 13th before you know it!
