"Doing" Global Studies
Students in the Global Studies Program worked with more commitment than ever to run awareness campaigns and be involved with organizations and issues of importance to them. They make us wonder what outstanding effort will come from them in the spring semester!
Below, students gathered for a photograph to send to a child in Zimbabwe whom they have sponsored for a year's schooling through The Nyadire Connection.
International Videoconference
Students contributed to a meaningful conversation about what being a global citizen means to them during a moderated discussion facilitated by Generation Global. They engaged with two schools in Ukraine and one from Indonesia.
Sewing Party
The Girls' Empowerment Program of the Nyadire Connection held a sewing party to assembly pad and hygiene kits that will be distributed to girls and women in Zimbabwe. Global Studies students donated supplies and lent helping hands.
Global Ethics Day
During lunch periods, Global Studies students asked the student body to share their responses to important ethical questions. What do you think: should everyone live in a democracy?

Check Out the Jack-o-Lanterns
A chill in the air didn't stop this crew of ESL and Global Studies students from sharing the American tradition of carving pumpkins with this year's international students. Their home countries include Norway, Brazil, Denmark, China, Italy, Japan, Germany, and Thailand.
