Parent Update
October 27, 2024 - Corrected
It has been a fun and fascinating week. We had a first in my career as an educator, 8th grade student Tobi Nehoda played an extra on Wednesday night's episode "Bad Habits" of Chicago Med. For period of air time, Tobi had nine hours of work as they shot the scene from many angles. Congratulations to Tobi and his family for making the most of this opportunity.
Next week our Student Leadership Team has organized a Spirit week. Students are invited to participate in the following student designed activities:
- Monday 10/28: Minions or Monsters (Inc.)
- dress up as a minion or your favorite Monsters Inc. Monster (wear green for Team Mike or blue for Team Sully)
- Tuesday 10/29: Twin Tuesday
- pick a friend to dress up with as a twin
- Wednesday 10/30: Pajama Day
- dress up cozy in your pajamas
- Thursday 10/31: Happy Halloween
- All students will wear costumes to school. Students should plan ahead, ensuring their costumes do not interfere with regular school activities, including physical education. Finally, costumes should be easy to put on, as students need to be able to use the bathroom independently. Thank you for helping us make this season a fun, safe, and inclusive celebration!

Auto Safety
A continued reminder that we have a lot of kids and families walking to school, riding bikes, and dropping off students. Please be patient. Please follow the school zone speed limits and please refrain from cell phone use. I have heard about too many accidents around schools lately and want to ensure that our students and families remain safe.

Please reach out to Mrs. Hernandez (nhernadez@winfield34.org or 630-909-4901) with questions or to schedule an appointment. Here is information on the screening and on our preschool program.
