Updates & Reminders
Please make sure your child is participating during live zoom instruction as if they were in school. Students should be dressed and sitting up ready to learn. No student should be in bed during zoom instruction.
The school district is planning to move to Plan B on October 6th. We will be communicating with families soon about your assigned rotation week.
The school day will be from 7:50-2:30. Students will be tardy if they arrive after 7:50. Please be prepared that if your child should arrive late that only one family will be allowed to come into the school at a time to check-in at the office entryway in order to maintain social distancing guidelines.
Please begin having your child wear a mask for extended periods of time. All students will be expected to wear a mask throughout the school day except when eating or participating in strenuous physical activity.
Important!
All students must have a new green student information form with updated contact information. All students must also have at least 3 emergency contacts who can pick your child up within 10-15 minutes in the event that they become sick.
The forms are available to be picked up and submitted at the school office. Please begin picking up and completing the forms as soon as possible.
Spotlight On - 3rd Grade!
The 3rd grade teachers are enjoying getting to know their students and creating a classroom community through interactive morning meetings. In math, the students are busy applying their strategies to solving multiplication and division problems. In reading, we are learning how to stay focused, talk about text, and share our thinking. In writing, we are generating ideas through using our mentor texts. Third grade is working very hard to set goals to accomplish this year, and their teachers are very proud of them!
Specialist Corner
Your media center is up and running for you to check out your “good fit books”. Every reader has their favorite genres/subgenres and you can find your perfect book by searching our online library catalog in Destiny Discover. Students login with their firstname.lastname for their username and their student ID# for the password. If you need any login information, ask your teacher or Ms. Tew. Students put books on hold by clicking on the book that they would like to read. Balanced readers would generally select one fiction and one nonfiction book to checkout. Ms. Tew will message you through Class Dojo when your books are ready for pickup. You may pick them up M-F 8:00-4:00 and on Wednesdays 8:00-6:00.
Each week students are provided an opportunity to learn more about our library and the books and other media resources available for them to think about, learn from, connect with, and ROAR about. These lessons are posted in the students Google Classroom or Seesaw Media Classroom. Ms. Tew is enjoying getting to know who you are as a reader and is always available to help you find the perfect book!
