Families are encouraged to sign up now for Winter Academy. Paper applications were sent home with students before Thanksgiving Break. Paper applications were mailed home to families of students that have earned one or more "D" or "F" in any classes. Turn in applications to the front office. iReady Diagnostic for students Continues on December 4th
All students will be taking the iReady math diagnostic in their advisory classes beginning on November 20, 2024. Starting on December 4, students will begin taking the iReady reading diagnostic. We encourage students to do their best to help teachers understand what each child has learned so far and what areas they still need to improve. You can see your child's scores in Schoology. The first i-Ready diagnostic scores were also shared with families on parent conference night. Is your child on grade level? If they need more support, you can have them work on MyPath lessons at home to help them in reading and math! Contact Ms. Eitel at ogm2650@lausd.net if you need support accessing your child's scores.
This Week in Pictures!
OVMS had a busy week before Thanksgiving Break. We celebrated great student attendance with nachos for those showing improvement. We also had lunch on the lawn with students and faculty enjoying lunch together, picnic style, and we held our annual 8th grade Turkey Bowl with our Blue and Silver Teams. Congratulations to Coach Chihuahua and Assistant Coach Coglan and all of the Silver Team participants for a great win! Congratulations students for being on track to culminate by meeting all important requirements, and therefore being eligible to participate. Keep up the good work!
