The Timetable Flip is Approaching
This year RND will be flipping the daily schedule at the midterm point of each semester. The two morning classes will swap times, and the two afternoon classes will swap. This will hopefully balance attendance for those students who miss classes at specific times due to extracurricular events and other issues.
Beginning on November 11th, the RND daily schedule will look as follows:
Period 2: 8:35-9:45
Period 1: 9:50-11:05
Lunch: 11:05-11:50
Period 4: 11:55-1:10
Period 3: 1:15-2:30
Take Your Kid to Work Day
On Wednesday, November 6th, Grade 9 students across Canada will spend the day at the workplace of a parent, relative, friend or volunteer host. School will run as usual for students in grades 10, 11 and 12.

- Universities and colleges continue to visit our school and hold information sessions for our students. Click here to see the full schedule.
School Cash Online
RND uses School Cash Online, which is a convenient, easy to use, safe way to manage fee payments for schools. Annual student fees, extracurricular fees and other school purchases must be made through this online system.
Attendance Procedures
Attendance tracking is crucial to us at RND. The Safe Arrivals Program allows families to report their child's absence in a convenient way. Using the Safe Arrivals Program, families will be able to report daily absences, such as an illness, medical appointment, etc., and even schedule absences in one of three ways:
- SchoolMessenger app
- SchoolMessenger website
- Calling toll-free 1-844-445-4383
Community Service Hours
As part of the graduation requirements in Ontario, all students are required to complete 40 hours of community service. Track your hours using the form below. Completed forms can be dropped off in Student Services.
Mental Health Support
RND is blessed to have both a full-time youth worker, Amey Cancian and a full-time social worker, Edy Cruz-Fuentes. They are available to support students who are struggling with anxiety, depression or any other mental health struggles. Any student looking for support can pop down to their offices in the Wellness Hub (near the cafetorium) to chat or make an appointment for a later date.

Cell Phone Policy
We recognize the importance of technology in education; however, excessive or inappropriate use of personal mobile devices can disrupt learning and social interactions.
Students will be expected to store personal mobile devices out of sight during instructional time, except when their use is explicitly permitted by the educator. Progressive discipline measures will occur when students do not follow the expectations of the use of personal mobile devices. Exceptions will be made to the use of personal mobile devices for medical purposes and to support educational needs. Educators will plan accordingly with parents/guardians when these circumstances occur. Parents are asked to contact the main office at 613-545-1902 if they need to speak to their child during class hours.
Student Accident Insurance
ALCDSB does not provide accident insurance coverage for student injuries that occur on school property or during school activities, including extracurricular sports. If a student is injured, parent(s)/guardian(s) are responsible for any costs not covered by their Government Health Insurance Plan or their employer’s health care plan. Parents should check with their provider(s) regarding their specific coverage. As a convenience to you, the Board has made an arrangement to offer student accident insurance through insuremykids® program. For more information, see the document below.
