Math with Mrs. Skiba

I am SO excited to start this school year. We have had a great week focused on team building. I have truly enjoyed getting to know your students and can't wait to see what this year brings!

I will email newsletters every Friday. I highly encourage you to read them and check Power School for grades weekly. I also have a class website where students and guardians can quickly access information. You will be able to see our class calendar, daily notes and links to newsletters. Additionally, I have created an Amazon Class Wish List. I have told students if they feel that we could benefit from anything in our classroom to let me know and I will add it. I will be continually adding items throughout the year. Please do not feel obligated to make a purchase, but all donations are appreciated. Continual desired items include antibacterial wipes, kleenex, pencils and lined paper.

This week we took time to get to know each other and build our classroom community. We focused on team building with a rock, paper, scissors tournament, created class social contracts and had a tower building challenge. Ask your student how tall their tower was!

Next week we will be taking the NWEA MAP test. We will take this assessment on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. This will be our benchmark to help measure growth this year. Please make sure that student remembers to come to school with a fully charged Chromebook. If you have any further questions, please let me know.
