Join us for dinner and a program for our special Ladies' Nite Out featuring award-winning Christian Music duo Blake & Jenna Bolerjack. Their music reflects their personalities, a bubbly mix of classic and modern styles with a big sound that is energetic, happy, and inspiring. Jenna also will share her testimony about how even in dark times, God never leaves you.

Joshua 7:11–12 (HCSB): Israel has sinned. They have violated My covenant that I appointed for them. They have taken some of what was set apart. They have stolen, deceived, and put the things with their own belongings. 12 This is why the Israelites cannot stand against their enemies. They will turn their backs and run from their enemies, because they have been set apart for destruction. I will no longer be with you unless you remove from you what is set apart.

I was scheduled for surgery after 4 pm. Not thinking it was a big deal, I had coffee and toast around 730am that morning. I went about my day fasting for the late surgery.

When we arrived, they began asking all of their pre-op questions. When they asked if I had been fasting since midnight, I said yes, except for some coffee and a piece of toast.

They canceled the surgery!

I pleaded my case using logic that was lost on them. I asked that if I had a 7 am surgery and ate a porterhouse steak just before midnight would they have done the surgery?

“Yes.”

I had a piece of toast 8 hours ago what’s the difference?

“You ate after midnight.”

We rescheduled the surgery.

The point of that story is that rules matter even if they don’t always make sense. Achan had broken the rules, and it was affecting many others. For whatever reason, that small insignificant item was causing the downfall of a nation.

Have you ever considered what your hidden private sin might be causing?

- Downfall of your finances.

- Downfall of your marriage.

- Downfall of your family.

- Downfall of your business.

- Downfall of your church.

- Downfall of your community.

- Downfall of a nation.

I know what you are thinking. How could my small insignificant thing be doing that much damage? It can. It is.

It’s time to consecrate ourselves before the Lord. It’s time that we each get to the root of our individual sins for the common good of all.

1. Evangelism - it is our desire to see evangelism increase this year. A good way to measure that is through baptisms. Our goal is 12 baptisms this year. Evangelism Training is on March 12 at 4 pm.

2. Discipleship - it is our desire to see 50% of the worship attendance in intentional discipleship, whether in a group of 3-5 people or 1:1.

3. Community Engagement - it is our desire to see 50% of the worship attendance serving through community engagement initiatives. Look for sign-up opportunities.

1. We desire to see every person in Crowley and the near regions become disciples of Jesus who make disciples of Jesus. We are a Bible-believing church. Our command from God is to make disciples. However, that looks and feels different than it did when I was a kid! People are farther away from God than ever before. It takes more "touches" and deeper relationships before there can be spiritual conversations.

2. We will love people so they can move forward on life's journey. We have been saying this for a few months now, but want to keep saying it until we live it out everywhere we go! Because people are farther away from God than ever before we must choose to love them with patience, kindness, respect, and conversations - many conversations! We have to respect them as humans before we can discuss other matters. We must be patient with people as they work through the trauma that church and Christians have given over the years.

3. We have established a code of conduct for the FBC family:

• Recognition — We find the good in people and love to share it with others. We would love to get to know you.
• Inspire — We motivate to mobilize people to fulfill their God-given potential. Let us help you reach the heights for which you are designed.
• Serve — We engage our church and community by service projects, providing help when possible and sharing community resources.
