AVID Future Ready
Our annual Future Day has come and gone, and what a success it was! Every year our seniors have the opportunity to engage in college/career minded activities for an entire day. Our Avid team works hard to make sure that our students are set up for success and get all the information that they need about college and beyond.
We started the day with presentations from Mt. Sac and Citrus and students were even able to start their Mt. Sac application. Students created their FSA ID, worked on their CSU and UC applications, and met with representatives from trade schools and multiple military branches. One of the best parts was On the Spot Admissions where students met with admission officers from APU, La Verne, La Sierra, and Mt. Saint Marys. Over 30 students were accepted on the spot to private schools! Thank you to all of the teachers who helped at some point during the day and supported our seniors!

Staff Spotlight
Ms. Cervantes always knew she wanted to be in education in some capacity. Being the youngest of five siblings, it's no wonder she enjoys being around kids. In high school she joined her schools Teacher Preparatory Academy. She was also an instructional aide prior to becoming a teacher.
Since Ms. Cervantes is an avid Dodger fan, she will likely be glued to the World Series! Baseball is one of her favorite sports and it just so happened that her favorite team advanced. Thank you for joining the Viking family, and lets go Dodgers!
